I really wanted to have a sun rising on the main screen, so I asked a friend to design it. I couldn’t quite replicate it using Liquid Glass, so I ended up going with .ultraThinMaterial. See the results here: supersleep.app

@grimcodes you never use an ipad with magic keyboard case. so you don’t know how good it would have been if they add faceid to mac.

SwiftUI can also hide a specific view from screenshots directly without wrapping it in a secure UITextField. The trick is to reuse privacySensitive(false), inject SwiftUI's private redaction reason. Check the detail here kyleye.top/posts/swiftui-…

@privatetalky macOS literally has the best implementation of Liquid Glass. i’m not sure what are you even talking about.

Here’s my wishlist for macOS 27 👇 - Better Liquid Glass implementation - Fix the inconsistent window corner radius - Bring back Launchpad, even as an option - Customizable lock screen clock with depth effect What’s on your wishlist?

@tylerdotmp4 No. That won’t fix. Just bring the good old Launchpad.

@luciascarlet Exactly! And it cannot even be ordered the way we wanted (like Springboard) or grouping apps into a folder. I see their aim to make it feel more integrated. But that only makes it worse than leaving LaunchPad as is, untouched. LaunchPad has always supposed to be its own space.

Launchpad was in need of a refresh for a long time because it was clear that it was hanging by a thread and extremely unloved internally but integrating it with fucking Spotlight was the wrong decision I’ve always thought that they should instead integrate it with the Dock and I still do

are we ever going to get a macOS that doesn’t feel like it gets to eat the microwaved leftovers after iOS and iPadOS had all their food

Just tried Antigravity 2.0. It’s not an IDE anymore... I’m surprised! It’s basically the Codex/Claude desktop app with Gemini models. After spending $2.4B acquiring Windsurf, Google concluded that the future of AI coding is not IDE. We don’t need to read the code anymore.
