Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation.
This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.

They all should be ashamed of themselves. The only reason any of them even exist is because a woman gave birth to them. Laughing at a joke talking about the women’s team being inferior when they won the SAME medal is inexcusable.
I expect that kind of behavior from Trump but seeing it from the entire team is very disappointing. The women’s team achieved history just like they did. They worked just as hard and deserve the same level of respect. Fuck these misogynist losers.

Apparently California decided to legalize running a shitty, unsanitary commercial home kitchen. This complete lack of respect for zoning regulations is so incredibly third world.
No, I do not need the Mexicans in my neighborhood "hustling" to cook tamales in their apartments and sell them out of wagons in front of the building. All those tamale carts should be smashed up by the police and anyone caught running a commercial food operation in their home should be fined into the next galaxy.
The idea that different parts of the city are for different things is a white concept that the third world is incapable of grasping. We have homes over here. Office space over here. Industrial plants over here. We don't stick an oil refinery in the middle of a suburban street or a strip club next to an elementary school. Third worlders do not care about any of this shit, they will build anywhere. Cities like Guadalajara and Davao look like SIMCITY if the player was dyslexic and psycho. Illegal bodega here, illegal food cart there, nightclub opening up next to your nice high rise and keeping you awake by blasting REGGAETON until six in the morning.
Mamdani is trying to do the same thing by "loosening" licensing requirements for food trucks here. Get ready for more slop merchants on every corner, more women harassing you in the subway, while anyone who runs an actual honest business gets fucked. No. Burn the tamale carts.

Interesting development. As you may or may not know, there's a long-standing practice in Black American communities of selling "plates"—which are just that: plates of prepared food—from one's home. Obviously without a restaurant license or anything, so it's technically illegal, though rarely enforced. It predates the internet, but with the rise of Facebook Marketplace, etc., it's become more visible to outsiders. I'm sure I don't need to walk you through the criticisms and defenses of the practice, but to mention that it's also arguably a form of laundering SNAP funds. Anyway, it looks like California is attempting to regularize this practice by creating a new category, "Micro-Enterprise Home Kitchen Operation," which applies to these sorts of small-scale, home-based operations. They're even subsidizing them, apparently, which makes sense, since otherwise I doubt many sellers of "plates" would bother with even a simple process of applying to the state for permission to do what they've been doing anyway.
