One problem with this discussion is we need a definition of what constitutes a (normal acceptable) spanking and what goes too far. There is discipline and then there is abuse. We, as a society, need to figure out where that line is.

He gives greater weight to certain sins. We see this in the consequences He gives in Scripture. Homosexuality was punishable by death.

How can you tell if someone is eating too much or if they are on cancer medication? The Bible doesn’t say obesity is a sin. The Bible says “gluttony” is a sin.

Former band members from the popular 90's CCM band Avalon have re-released the song "Testify To Love" as an LGBTQ affirming anthem and claim it's always has been about queer love. One of those former members, Melissa Greene, writes in her Substack post alongside photos of another band member kissing his husband at the altar that "love is for everyone" and "Michael never needed to be redeemed. He was always whole and worthy." This phenomenon of believing that we are somehow nicer than God, that Romans 1 is too harsh or that passages affirming the holiness of marriage between one man and one woman are simply too difficult to accept, is false. We go to God's word for what's true about sexuality and marriage. If something in the Word of God seems wrong, cruel, or confusing to us, the problem is not with God. It’s not with His Word. It’s with us.

@TedAtchley3 Some of her replies would suggest that she actually views Fundamentalists as inherently prone (or at the very least highly susceptible) to extreme radicalization & violence. I think this is a misunderstanding of the existence of “moderates” as a large part of most groups.

By her definition, I'm a fundamentalist. No amount of evidence could get me to change my belief: Jesus is one and only Son of God, fully God, and fully man. He was crucified, buried, and raised to life on the third day. No other name has been given by which we can be saved.

The entire Christian story is the answer to the problem of evil. Everybody's dealing with the problem of evil, but only Christianity answers it. That's what Christianity is.

I’m a therapist. Widows ABSOLUTELY do everything Erika has done here. We encourage grieving people to get out of the house, take advantage of distractions, and become active in a cause, especially one tied to their deceased loved one if it makes them feel empowered.
