What a wonderfully written piece that resonates so much. When people ask me why I left my academic job they want me to point to this thing or that thing. But mostly it was this - this unrelenting tiredness - that made me decide I needed to be somewhere else and do something else

Students in regional and remote areas say the rising costs of going to university and moving away from home are major barrier to accessing higher education. Many aren't eligible for govt support, or don't know if they are eligible. abc.net.au/news/2022-08-2…

2+ years of online meetings have taught me, - some things can only be discussed face to face - so much face to face is wasted on social chit chat - we just have too many meetings - online allows greater connectivity for a more inclusive team environment

🛑 Meeting Death: Wasting 2 hours traveling to a meeting will end. The benefits of in-person are eroded by the benefits you get of not traveling Conferences and quarterly networking events will become more important for cultivating in-person relationships

V good to see that people are being informed about organ donation with their license renewal. Not as pleased that this *does not* cover bone marrow transplants. This is done via lifeblood.com.au/organ-and-tiss… ... also i need to renew my license 🙄
