i fucked up the price decrease, today was 1.85 ROAS but 13% margin
reason being is australia & canada started converting really well & i increased budget for australia, but i failed to account for COGs difference (in those 2 specific countries) with my price decrease, since i based my BEROAS off US only
simple fix - i will add $5-$10 shipping to australia, and if it doesn't convert, then fuck it i'll scale down and test more ads or diff pricing
so yeah fuck up on my end, but we live and learn
today started off super super horrible
turned back on the campaign for my newer product, i turned it off because i didnt have time (Or tbh, lack of clarity on highest levers) - so now that im clear, its time to run it up and test more ads for it
so 2 prods running now and we'll see how that goes
prepared 4 new concepts to test, diff angles/awareness levels
not scaling down yet.. just gonna focus on creative volume so i have enough spend for testing

go back to my update 4 days ago - i was on $2.5k rev with -17% margin
yesterday $10k rev with 40% margin
the only difference is 1 single ad
NOTHING else
the tingly feeling continues and i doubled budgets again
i have no idea whats going to happen from here
but this just truly showed me how fast things can change with ecom

every CBO i launched it on - it took over spend and increased ROAS like a mofo
my balls are tingling so im doubling budgets across the CBOs lets see what happens
talking to creators & slowly starting to ship out my product to them (selling them on the vision, making them qualify why they want to be a part of it, product seeding) & ordered samples to my house
also started doing product research to add more SKUs to the store

$0-$1m with eCom - Day 185 - a lesson on visuals/b-roll
- launched new hooks with my winning ad: i made a mistake previously and launched the last hooks i did with the FIRST version of the winning ad, but that wasn't the actual winner, since it had a bit of a different b-roll in the middle, which made a HUGE difference in performance
^ a lesson here is, you think your script has the most "pulling" power - but this showed me that visuals are soooo much more important than I thought
@ecommmoose talked about this in his most recent post where he starts with outlining the visuals FIRST before the script, really recommend giving it a read
just for more context on this ^ my winning ad took me a few weeks ago from unprofitable to 30-40% margins..
and i accidentally relaunched it with the first version the editor sent me (the REVISION (2nd version) was the winner) -
and the first version (not revision) had 0.7 ROAS (!) and the winner 2.5-3 ROAS consistently... ONLY DIFFERENCE - B-ROLL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AD!
anyways, we keep moving
wrote 6 new TOF ads, testing different messaging and formats, gonna send them to editor on sunday
also reached out to multiple creators, starting to get the ball rolling

this is with US & canada performing like shit - so really good day all things considered
the viral hooks i tested (talked about in previous post) immediately took up most of the spend and are performing pretty well
^ reminder to test a shit ton of (intentional) hooks for ur best ads - hooks can literally transform ad performance
wrote MOF scripts today + a few '1 of 1' positioning ads (thanks @dtc_alchemist)
also designed more statics and launched
i found a factory that can produce my product exactly the way i want it, and at that point i know for a fact its a product that i 100% want to go all in on
production likely starts tomorrow, but i already have few thousand units of the previous version already in production
once im sold out - i will turn the purchase option to a pre-order as i want to start selling the new version ASAP
once the newer version finishes production (around 15 days unfortunately) i will send out product to creators, at this point i NEED custom content as i want to have more TOF ads
until that happens, i'm gonna do my best with AI voiceover scripts.
getting my other more "expensive" editor to edit these new scripts for me, so quality should be better and hopefully hit-rate improves
