Okay I’m just going to elaborate on this a bit. I could’ve worded this better and at the time I was pretty upset. But I still believe what I said. I was told not long ago by someone that I trust and knows people in the know, that Mikel was finished for the season no matter what happened and that it was a decision from his party. I have loved watching him play at Louisville and if you asked me for my opinion on him a month ago it would’ve been completely different. But the way he and his party have navigated this “lingering back injury” bullshit and sat out half of the season when he could absolutely play, I have lost all respect for him. I wish him the best in the future but my loyalties don’t lie with players who will use us for a check and national attention to improve their draft stock and then sit out when shit gets real. My loyalty lies with the University of Louisville, and if you don’t like that, so be it.
