There were many people inside the SNP working flat out trying to build a serious, credible case for independence - I spent much of my time trying to do it on defence policy. All the while the party’s then chief executive was stealing eye-watering sums of party funds, given in good faith by supporters. They are the foundation of the cause - without them we are nothing. It is all incredibly, profoundly and deeply depressing.

Some notes on my work ethic: -I last voted in Parliament on 18 March, so I haven’t done my job for ten weeks. -I’ve never held any face-to-face constituency surgeries, despite apparently having £5 million to spend on security. -I refuse to do interviews or face press scrutiny of any sort. -when I was in the European Parliament I had the 4th worst attendance record out of 748 MEPs. -although I did manage to turn up to vote AGAINST plans to tackle Russian misinformation. -I was on the Fisheries Committee but I only turned up to ONE out of 42 meetings. -but I will of course be taking my £73,000 EU pension. Vote Reform, get lazy, grifting, self-serving sacks of shit.

One of the most thrilling and realistic action scenes in The Living Daylights is when Bond and Kara Milovy escape from a massive Hercules transport plane in mid-air. The impressive aircraft used in filming was a real Lockheed C-130 Hercules lent to the production by the Royal Moroccan Air Force, adding remarkable realism to the sequence. Dalton’s Bond era leaned heavily into gritty espionage and practical stunt work, and this scene remains one of the standout action moments of the 1980s Bond films.

@spacephobos I think that's in part cause the DS9 writers didn't care about the Maquis and were landed with the storyline because Berman/Piller/Taylor needed to seed Voyager into the narrative on TNG and DS9 beforehand.

TNGs take on the maquis is easily the best. and i hate it so much that they became the defacto stand in for the "scary radicals" in ds9 and were almost entirely unexplored in voy :/
