In a post this morning on TruthSocial, President Donald J. Trump stated Iran has “apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore.” Trump further stated that, “It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries. They have said, ‘Thank you President Trump.’ I have said, ‘You're welcome!’ Iran is no longer the ‘Bully of the Middle East,’ they are, instead, ‘THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST,’ and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse! Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran's bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time.”

@TheIntelFrog When do we expect CBP to publish a job description asking for “Jedi-level lightsaber skills”? Asking for a… friend with two droids. #jedi

So CBP got a shiny new toy and used it without coordinating the safety aspect of the operation forcing the FAA to shut down the airspace for safety of flight. Absolutely the right call by the FAA.
Jennifer Griffin@JenGriffinFNC

“According to a U.S. official, the directed energy/laser counter drone technology was in CBP's control when the balloon was mistakenly shot down near El Paso, Texas earlier this week,” per Fox’s @Liz_Friden “In January, Defense Secretary Hegseth signed an agreement for the Pentagon to loan the directed energy counter drone platform to DHS, the U.S. official tells Fox News. The official said the agreement was signed sometime in the last 30 days. Following the shoot down is when FAA closed the airspace, the official said.” EDIT: A U.S. official could not go into specifics about what exactly the technology used by the U.S. military is, but said directed energy/lasers is accurate to use.

Yeah, so pretty much, like, there is this really sketchy company in Israel named "Paragon". Paragon sells a "product" called GRAPHITE. Let me explain the background and why this is very silly. GRAPHITE spyware which allows "customers" to remotely access peoples cell phones and monitor their instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp It is spyware. It is sometimes called Mercenary Spyware because it is primarily used by governments to spy on political enemies, journalists, and activists. Very little is known about Paragon, GRAPHITE, and their "customers". However, it was publicly noted by the Trump administration in January, 2025, to be purchased by the United States government and to be used to aid ICE. Furthermore, in September 2025 the Trump administration noted the usage of Graphite to aid the United States against "domestic terrorist organizations" such as "ANTIFA". ICE acting director Todd Lyons noted using GRAPHITE to monitor anti-ICE protestors to track "ringleaders and professional agitators". Citizen Lab and other civil rights organizations have documented the usage of GRAPHITE against individuals in Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Israel, Singapore and (unsurprisingly) the United States. It is believed the Canadian government actively uses GRAPHITE in Ontario. Okay, so why does all of this matter? Yeah, it's super fucked up. But today representatives from Paragon accidentally leaked GRAPHITE screenshots ... ON LINKEDIN. Dawg, that image in the background IS GOVERNMENT FUCKING SPYWARE It shows phone numbers in Czechia, apps, accounts, media on the phone, "interception status", and phone numbers extracted. THEY LEAKED IT BY ACCIDENT ON LINKEDIN WHILE TAKING SELFIES

CBS on the El Paso airspace incident- Earlier this week, tech was used to shoot down what appeared to be foreign drones. The flying material turned out to be a party balloon, sources said. One balloon was shot down.

@TheIntelFrog Something that I learned working in the public sector is that if a project’s delivery timeline extends past the next election cycle, odds are pretty good that the project will get scrapped or significantly modified prior to completion.

He is not wrong here by any stretch of the imagination. The Pentagon procurement process has been a disaster for decades. It's too slow and cumbersome and reactionary. Part of that is due to continually shifting priorities in Congress.

President Donald J. Trump has received briefings on multiple different attack options against Iran in recent days, developed in tandem by the White House and Pentagon, U.S. officials tell the Wall Street Journal. Among the options is the “big” plan which would see the United States launch strikes against government facilities and those operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a large-scale bombing campaign, likely involving assets from both the U.S. Air Force and Navy. Less-involved options include strikes on symbolic regime targets, allowing space for the bombings to ramp up if Iran doesn’t agree to end its nuclear work, and/or options such as cyberattacks on Iranian banks or tougher sanctions against the Iranian Government.

@satyanadella Could you have some developers work on #Copilot so that it doesn’t #mislead users as to its own capabilities? I’d appreciate that, and I’m sure there are other users that would as well.

Just reported our quarterly results. We are still in the beginning phases of AI diffusion and its broad GDP impact, and already we’ve built an AI business that is larger than some of our biggest franchises that took decades to build. Our quarterly cloud revenue crossed $50 billion for the first time. What’s striking is it was less than 10 years ago that our annual cloud revenue was $10 billion! (That is what expanding TAM + good execution looks like) A few other highlights from across the stack:
