1. The Europeans were not involved in ANY discussions on the war until THE DAY WE ATTACKED. 2. Allies means that you involve them as soon as possible. Trump clearly didn't. That is Trump's fault, no one else's. 3. I think the Europeans are a mess, and might not have helped regardless of whether Trump contacted them earlier or not. But Trump's incompetence here means we will never know. He burned that bridge before we even got started. 4. And lets not forget this is a war of CHOICE. NATO is intentionally a defensive treaty organization. If Poland invaded Kaliningrad without consulting the US, would we really blindly support them in a war against Russia? If you can't say 'yes', then you basically are agreeing with the Europeans here.

I refuse to believe you guys don't see the problem here. It's one thing for the Europeans not to provide direct support for the operation. It's another for France to deny the use of its airspace for cargo deliveries or for the UK to muddle over domestic base usage. There is no point in being in an alliance that can't provide such basic guarantees of cooperation.
