🚨 #Breaking Newz Alert 🚨 "Containment Efforts Progress as #CrownFire Holds Ground in Moreno Valley" #California ➡️ Firefighters have achieved 25% containment on the Crown Fire in Riverside County, which is currently holding at 280 acres. Incident Command reports a low rate of spread as crews work to strengthen perimeter lines. This progress comes as the region faces a Santa Ana wind event with gusts reaching 20 to 30 mph. ➡️ All air assets, including helicopters, have been released from the scene as ground crews take over primary suppression duties. Currently, 105 personnel are assigned to the incident, utilizing 23 engines & 2 dozers to manage the landscape. Dry conditions & low humidity remain a primary concern for the 100+ responders. ➡️ While zero structures have been destroyed & zero injuries have been reported, the nearby Moreno Valley College campus was forced to close on Friday due to poor air quality. Authorities continue to monitor shifting wind patterns that are expected to persist through Saturday morning across the valley. ➡️ Local residents are advised that while the forward progress of the fire has slowed, the situation remains active & smoke will be visible for miles. Yep remember it well Lived up there at the time at MM53 on the Crest. We were worried about the Morris fire off Hywh 39 not the Station fire that was 25 miles west of us. Within 72 hours Forestry came to camp and said the fire has Jumped Big Tujunga - Get Out- No one is coming back for you. Out of three exits only one left open going East on Route 2 thru the high country and down into Wrightwood

The Station Fire in the Angeles National Forest burned 160,557 acre and started in August and burned till October of 2009.
