I don't understand people agreeing to this kind of statement... I borrowed 100 million for a project, I called you as an actor and I payed you what you demanded for as a prominent actor that you are.. Now you are still expecting me as a producer to start giving you dividends after I have payed you for your service. Now let assume I have 300 cast in that project and they are also a prominent actor like you, so I should also starts giving them royalty just because they featured in my movie. Oga if you want royalty kindly gather money and produce your own movie then share royalty with your actors ..

Let assume you have a big project as a producer and you borrowed 100 million for the project, now you have a cast about 200 and you pay them all. Now so because they have featured in the movie that you payed them, you will still have to share your profits them just because they are an actor right?.... even though you never know if you will be profitable

@actorate_eth @Femzydr1 Also, I think creators (actors and actress) should have legal agreement more instead of just paying each other upfront , most times producer owns about 5% or so on an artist songs, y'all can give bout 20% shares to featured artist on a moves that's going to sell billions dollar

We don't have a producing firm that's big enough for that. You are talking for the likes of "lion's gate, Netflix, producers of black panther etc.... we don't have that big tradition that can pull that here. Even Femi Adenuga production is only paying 20k naira dividend to papa Ajasco as big as its despite they have contract

@actorate_eth @Femzydr1 Actors and actresses shouldn't be getting paid upfront, and I think movie studios should regulate signing actors and actresses even more like the record labels does, let them get paid from their discography.....I realise how bigger problems that youtube channel solved now

@actorate_eth @Femzydr1 This is a smart response. How will I invest millions in my movie pay 100's of artist. Pay for location and other cost and still be giving artist loyalty. So if I have 50 artist on the movie I'll be paying the 50 royalties. Haba. Are you the executive producer?

@meka_utc @Femzydr1 Music is different from movie production. And still yet it's base on the contract we both have. If I buy music from you, produced it and even cast you, then pay you well; If the contract didn't have clause of royalty I don't need be paying you anything anymore

@actorate_eth @Femzydr1 Think of it this way: I hav a hospital, a patient presented wit a case requiring a specialist. I invited a specialist to perfom d procedur at my facility and paid him a fee. Becus that procedure is atracting more patients to my hospital, am I expected to pay that doctor for life?

No sir it doesn't always works that way. For you to be receiving dividends you must have a special contract. Now for instance; The girl that play Avatar role is receiving dividends up to 50 years because of the contract she signed with them and not because she played her role well. Now out of people that acted Avatar why is she the only one having such favor, what happened to the rest, why are they not receiving dividends like her since they all featured in the same movie... so it doesn't always works that way

This is how it works in the US... You are paid royalties from sales. Most times they don't pay the actors off once. It now depends on the percentage. You must understand that your production is as important as the actors involved people watch because of the actors involved not your production

Unfortunately there's not... not even in the western world. Theater art has two sides "The business side and the talent side" . This actors falls in the talent side which only requires to pay them for their job well done. While the other one are in for business.. The only way you can earn a lifetime dividends or salary is if you have a contract with a movie firm ( e.g like papa Ajasko).

@actorate_eth There would definitely be a way to regulate this, like paying will not be as high as it used to be

There's always an upgrade to things. We once see banking as something we can be proud of because we can comfortably save our money. Now Finteck is here as an upgrade and still serve the same purpose but better. All in all we are still one of the best, so it has nothing to do with rate... of cos we are poor at that
