People seem to be confused.
When workers are paid less than a living wage, they’re forced to rely on taxpayer funded social safety nets to survive.
That’s not a taxpayer “handout” to workers.
That’s a taxpayer handout to corporations.

McDonald’s reported $1.93 billion in profits for Q1. The average McDonald’s worker is paid less than a living wage, and is forced to rely on government assistance. Their profits are our tax dollars subsidizing their poverty wages.
