The Sameer Project desalination plant is almost done 😍😍 Keep supporting here: chuffed.org/project/help-u… Children were playing football near our desalination plant and our team caught it on camera. A few moments of joy for kids also means thirst after their play. And on many occasions, children in Gaza can’t find water to quench their thirst. Access to clean water in Gaza is so difficult and that is why The Sameer Project decided to create a NEW source of water. We did that by collecting spare parts available inside Gaza and put together new machinery for a desalination plant in Gaza City. Your material support allowed us to make this happen. We are hoping to open the plant next week and immediately start distributing water. This project will allow us to provide water daily for thousands of people. With no baths or showers, children are showering in public. A common scene in Gaza is to see children sharing a bit of soap and using a pipe of water. Many camps get one water truck a week allowing them to fill a couple of jerrycans that are shared amongst the whole family for not only drinking but also washing dishes and clothes, and cooking, etc. The Sameer Project is aspiring to do more water trucks despite the difficulties and drop in donations. For two weeks, The Sameer Project shifted to rice and burgul meals due to the lack of funds. Support here: chuffed.org/project/help-u…. The families in the camps we distribute in were really upset that we stopped meat / chicken meals, so we decided to be innovative and came up with more affordable dishes packed with protein! Our incredible Chef Majid came up with nutrition filled meals like this one that they called Thai Chicken, which includes onion, black pepper, mushrooms, corn and carrots. Wholesome and filling meals for only $3! Right now, The Sameer Project kitchen is making around 1,600 meals per day for four days a week. We used to cook 7 days a week but have now reduced the days due to the decrease in funding. We need your help to go back to 3,000 meals for 7 days a week to support Palestinians in Gaza!
