His name is Alex Jeffrey Pretti. He was 37 years old. He was a licensed nurse. He was recording ICE and defending a female protester from their aggression. And they executed him.

So, Republican lawmakers are proposing a statue honoring Charlie Kirk for our nation’s capitol. If anyone deserves a statue it’s U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman, who actually defended our nation’s capitol by diverting an unruly MAGA mob away from Senate chambers.

This is when we see who is serious about their oath & who isn’t. This President continues to exceed his powers because Republicans care more about a pat on the head than they do being patriots. OUR TROOPS, OUR LAND, OUR CITIZENS, & OUR STANDING IN THE WORLD are all being put at risk! If republicans are so supportive of his acts, then he could have come to Congress for approval… but he’s been allowed to unconstitutionally grab immigrants, then US citizens off the streets because too many people continue to pretend like this is nothing more than a game! I’m disgusted at how feckless & weak elected “leaders,” are being in this moment! I’ll put it this way, if the justification for grabbing a president comes from having indictments…. something tells me this precedent won’t age well!

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month. It’s about oil and regime change. And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from Epstein + skyrocketing healthcare costs.

@MalloryMcMorrow No Mallory, we need Medicare for all - complete healthcare system that benefits everyone, and that does away with private insurance companies that provide no added benefits, but increases healthcare costs to pad their pockets.

Too often, the debate on healthcare focuses only on insurance and how we pay for care. Yes, let’s fix that system. Let’s create a public option to ensure everyone has coverage and we drive costs down. But let’s shift the conversation to the underlying system and how we build one based on health outcomes, not just how we pay for a broken system.

It’s one thing to not support Medicare for All. It’s another thing to purposely spread misinformation about it, and a Public Option, when you know better. Medicare for All uses our tax dollars to fund a universal healthcare (not insurance) system that covers everyone, expands coverage to include vision, hearing, dental and longterm care. Its cuts spending by up to $450 billion per year, and saves families money by eliminating copays, premiums and deductibles. A Public Option, while better than our current system, is still insurance-based, still benefits the private insurance industry, would leave millions without coverage, keeps healthcare costs high, and costs more than our current system. Healthcare misinformation costs lives, not just money.

I’m no great fan of the ACA. I believe we should guarantee health care as a human right through a single-payer Medicare for All system. But — at minimum — we cannot allow Republicans to destroy our already-broken system by doubling insurance premiums for 20 million Americans.
