EFFURUN SHOOTING: POLICE ASSURE JUSTICE AS OFFICER FACES DISCIPLINARY ACTION The Nigeria Police Force condemns the fatal shooting of a suspect, Mene Ogidi, which occurred on 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State. Preliminary reports indicate that operatives attached to the Effurun Area Command responded to credible information from Benin Motor Park along the Warri–Sapele Expressway regarding a suspect apprehended by members of a transport union while attempting to waybill a parcel containing a Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition. While efforts were being made to take the suspect into lawful custody, the team leader, ASP Nuhu Usman, discharged his firearm in clear violation of extant regulations, resulting in the death of the suspect. The leadership of the Nigeria Police Force has directed the immediate transfer of the officer and his team to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where they would face the Force Disciplinary Committee for summary disciplinary measures and prosecution. The Inspector-General of Police extends his condolences to the family of the deceased and assures them that justice will be served in accordance with the law. He further urges members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding as the disciplinary and legal processes take their course. The Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial actions, abuse of authority, and any conduct that undermines public trust. On the early hours of Saturday 26 of April 2026 by 2am, my best friend A young graduate who just finished school last year and currently serving his country and was meant to pass out just next month was KILLED BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY. @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG_CRU @sowore @PeterObi @officialnyscng @vdmempire @BenHundeyin While at home with his siblings (his parents were away), 3 armed military men forced their way into their house around 2am claiming they were chasing a thief. They encountered him and he locked his door like anyone would do to protect themselves and his siblings because he was the eldest and he has a duty to protect his siblings. they shot through the door multiple times, A bullet hit his head and another hit his stomach. They killed him in his own home. It didn’t end there. They prevented his sister from going to him. They tried to stop her from calling for help and when help finally came, his body was taken away. The soldiers called the local vigilante to come and clean the scene. The scene was cleaned and the house was locked down. No clear answers were given. This happened in Dakwa Abuja, it’s not longer rumors that we aren’t safe, not even in our homes. This was someone’s son. Someone’s brother. Someone’s friend. He was kind. He was good. He had a future. This cannot be swept under the rug. We are demanding accountability. We are demanding answers. We are demanding justice. Please repost. Please speak up. Don’t let this be ignored. Prayer For A Broken Woman Father God, I pray for the woman out there who is broken and in pain, confused and feels rejected and unsure of what to believe anymore concerning her life and those thoughts seem to be spiralling. Father, I ask that you meet her right where she is today. I pray that she finds strength from on high, Father. Lord let her feel you in a way she cannot deny today. Lord, you are the God who turns situations around. The one who steps into what seems final. Father turn this life round in Jesus name. Daddy brings directions when things feel broken. My lord my God please bring restoration in Jesus Name. I pray that hope will rise again today. The divine wisdom she needs to make the right decision minister to her. Lord guard her heart from making decisions out of pain in Jesus name. Lord as you heal her, please do not just restore her but raise her into a deeper version of herself who is no longer defined by her past. One who can trust your leadership. Lord teach her what to hold on to and what to release this season. Lord block her ears from the counsel of those whose words are not your word in her life. Father stay with her in this process. Where she is not able to pray for herself, let this prayer stand for her father. I pray for calmness, for strength and for peace upon her life.
