Does anyone else ever sometimes catch those “crepe erase” infomercials that come on at 3am and wonder, “How far are we from having our own, real-life, Clayface?”

Who do you think we should invite to speak at #DDDEU 2023?

Enjoying a quiet Sunday morning, having breakfast with the fam by the fire, before a week of traveling to the office in Detroit, teaching a course and heading to Austin to speak at SXSW.

@TraceyHalvorsen These are phenomenally beautiful. Your understanding of color is brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing!

Some new paintings to share! Painting is a perfect practice for me (much like meditation) where I can get into a flow state, and through the process I feel other pathways and perspectives open up. The feeling is pure electricity and joy.

@jenstrickland Yes. For me, therapy has helped. Turns out, much of my imposter syndrome was built on Complex PTSD, but I didn’t know it. Finding someone who has helped me slowly untangle bits and pieces has been great. Still have the same thoughts, but they’re getting less frequent & less loud.

@geoffa Hope it’s stayed to just the one and that you’re best-free now.

@adamconnor It often seems that way. For me today, it was dealing with a Yellowjacket nest. Only got stung once (so far).

Adulting question: Do all adults always have some domestic dilemma to have to deal with? I swear, there is never not at least one appliance not working or repair needed on the house or something wrong w/ a vehicle. And more often than not there’s more than one thing to deal with.

@designotter Oh god, yes. This. And I think right now I may have reached the point that everything has been put off or delayed so long that pretty much everything is an emergency.

@austingovella In this case there’s very few improvements and and everything growing list of issues. Given the similarities though between this and the day-to-day of the type of work we do, it’s no wonder I’m completely burnt out.

@adamconnor It's like the UX of your product. It always has a queue of improvements and issues.

@OksanaIvanovaPM Hah. I sometimes wonder if I should have stayed in apartments because at least then it was more the landlord’s responsibility. But guess that’s not the case there either.

Thanks for the responses all. Glad to know I’m not alone in this kind of frustration.

It’s so persistent, and at this point so anxiety triggering, that I can’t help but wondering if I’m doing something wrong.

I’d love to just have one day where there wasn’t something to stress about at home.

@jina Damn! I really like that. I’m going to see if they have it at one here. Has a weird Goonies/One Eyed Willy kinda vibe to me.

Walgreens had this glittery skull (it's actually heavy!) in the Halloween decorations section. I put it in my brother's shopping basket, and he bought it. I was going to put in my office, but he said, "Hey, I bought it!" 😆 Guess it's going in the living room!

@ifenn It's almost as if UX has more to do with understanding people's needs and expectations and how to addresses them rather than how elements are arranged on a screen (though that matters too).

They have just copied Microsoft's business model. That's all. :-p

Ironic that @Adobe sell UX tools and have the worse UX ever. Unable to view a shared XD doc send to my account email because “I don’t have permission” They send SMS verifications from DIFFERENT, MULTIPLE numbers, all using a format that can’t autofill Ridiculous!
