🧵 Thrilled to share our latest in @Nature! We’ve mapped fetal blood development in Down syndrome (DS) using single-cell multi-omics, studying why children with DS face a 150-fold higher leukemia risk and blood abnormalities at birth. nature.com/articles/s4158…

Glad to have presented my research at the @AACR 's disparities conference. We leveraged the NAACCRegistry to see if Hispanic/Latinos have higher risk of leukemia across its molecular subtypes! @adamdesmith

So proud that this work is now published @AJHGNews. It was truly an effort of a team of undergrad students (at the time), led by @itscahoon. It was also a project used to introduce new grad students or others just getting into genomic analysis - the team effort really worked out!

Excited to see our latest work published in @CellGenomics today! We found that genetic variation at IKZF1 contributes to the increased risk of ALL in Hispanic/Latino children in the US, and shed light on functional mechanisms underlying IKZF1 risk alleles cell.com/cell-genomics/…

Why do Latino children have the highest risk for childhood leukemia in the US? We identify one cause for this in a paper out in @CellGenomics today, led by @adamdesmith, @LWahlster, @SoYoungJeon_Eli, @fulong_yu, @CharlestonCWKC, & colleagues: cell.com/cell-genomics/…
