#DNA #dnamethylation #methylation community - this looks weird where Bohlin clock has ZERO cpgs for its calculations? Package updated yesterday (Sept 15th) - error?! "adult" clocks have weird looking stats - yields estimates despite detecting all cpgs missing in my dataset (nope)

@Delta extremely poor service with DL 763. No PROPER information updates and non professional language by cockpit staff.

@illumina do you have a reference for how a CpG is classified as, say, RDMR (reprogramming differentially methylated region)?! I couldnt figure out from the datasheet as to how certain CpGs are classified as RDMR, TDMR etc.

Linoleic acid is the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid in the Western-style diet and has been implicated in promoting inflammation and cancer. In Science, researchers report a mechanism by which linoleic acid can activate the mTORC1 protein kinase, which coordinates growth and nutrient signals. a wonderful weekend read! This paper not only summarizes associations with various exposures but is also clock-agnostic! loved "Table 1"! @cardenaasca although the Haftorn clock wasnt seen.

How do environmental exposures influence #aging? Our systematic review highlights evidence linking air #pollution, cigarette #smoke, and some #chemicals to accelerated #epigenetic age 🧬Reducing these exposures is essential for a #CleanLongevity sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@JNwanajiEnwerem @cardenaasca wow! thats the most unique thing I've come across. Usually people consider SES and/or race/ethnicity into consideration to stratify and find interesting things.

Are immigrants in the U.S. aging slower—at the DNA level? 🧬 Our research reveals immigrants had younger epigenetic ages (~2.5 years!) compared to non-immigrants, while U.S. citizens were older than non-citizens. @Nature @NatureRevCancer I noticed a direct word-to-copying in an article. The @NatureRevCancer was published earlier (2004) than the other article (2013)! The latter copied the abstract of the former (just a couple words here-n-there but one line was an exact incl punctuations!)
