ALTERMIDYA CONDEMNS THE GUILTY VERDICT ON FRENCHIE MAE CUMPIO’S CASE: We strongly condemn the guilty verdict against our colleague, Frenchie Mae Cumpio. While she was acquitted of charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and explosives, it is deplorable that she was convicted of terrorism financing charges. We are outraged by the clear injustice of the court decision amid glaring evidence that the charges against Frenchie Mae, Marielle Domequil and the rest of Tacloban 5 are all fabricated. Kyrgyzstan: The head of the media outlet Temirov Live, Makhabat Tazhibek kyzy, was sentenced to six years in prison, and the akyn of "Ait Ait Dese" Azamat Ishenbekov - to five. Journalists Aktilek Kaparov and Aika Beyshekeeva were given three years of probation. The rest of the defendants in the case were acquitted due to the lack of evidence. The authorities decide to put child of Bolot and Mahabat under child protective service/orphanage/foster family. Both Mahabat and Bolot have parents, who can and are willing to take care of their grandson, who is 12 y.o. The grandparents also tried to get a power of attorney to move the child to Bolot in the EU. But the authorities are preventing this and are unlawfully refusing to verify/notarize the power of attorney.

‼️Дело журналистов: Махабат Тажибек кызы и Азамата Ишенбекова осудили на шесть и пять лет Судья Ленинского райсуда Кылычбек Истамкулов вынес приговоры в отношении действующих и бывших журналистов Temirov Live. Их обвиняют в призывах к массовым беспорядкам. Главу проекта Temirov Live Махабат Тажибек кызы приговрили к шести годам лишения свободы, а акына «Айт айт десе» Азамата Ишенбекова — к пяти. Тем временем журналистам Актилеку Капарову и Айке Бейшекеевой дали три года пробации. Остальных фигурантов дела оправдали из-за отсутствия состава преступления. Как передал корреспондент «Клоопа», только нескольким журналистам удалось войти в зал заседаний, чтобы заслушать приговор. Ранее гособвинение запросило для всех фигурантов дела по шесть лет лишения свободы. 11 действующих и бывших сотрудников Temirov Live задержали 16 января по обвинению в призывах к массовым беспорядкам. Все фигуранты дела не согласны с предъявленными обвинениями.
