@addictiveburn No, I think the nearest we got was Ålesund. I hope I do get to Oslo one day. I did have a fab time, totally breathtaking it was.

Last year I turned sixty and got myself a passport and last week I sailed with Fred Olson on The Balmoral to the Norwegian Fjords, I didn’t get to dance with the captain but I still had a brilliant holiday, definitely my best since Butlin’s Filey in the seventies.

Two sets of pics from my Pareidolia series ('human tendency to perceive meaningful images, particularly faces, in random or ambiguous objects like clouds, rocks, or household items') are now on display at the Praxis Gallery, Minneapolis in the new 'DIPTYCH' exhibition.

@CollettWriter @tusenoch @Pergament_F The only book I've read on that list is Last Exit to Brooklyn....which I read around 97 and keep meaning to re-read. I'm also fighting the onslaught of AI but it creeps into everyday life by stealth.

@tusenoch @Pergament_F @addictiveburn Yes, it’s a great list and has a number of faves of mine on it. I remember being very impressed he knew the Christa Wolf book, which I’d read in German for my degree and was very impacted by.

The Man Who Reads the World: David Bowie's Son Launches Online Book Club in His Honor Something little-known about Bowie: He was an avid reader, sometimes reading a book in a day. Rock star David Bowie was "a beast of a reader," according to his son Duncan Jones; so Jones decided to start an online book club in honor of his book-loving father. The late rock star's official Instagram account is called "The Bowie Book Club." David Bowie's literary tastes are wide-ranging; including classics from Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary to Homer's Iliad; novels and non-fiction: history, biography, art, architecture, and more... Three years before he died, David Bowie made a list of the hundred books that had transformed his life a list that formed something of an autobiography. Significantly, among Bowie’s last public statements is that this list of his Top 100 Books was offered as part of the David Bowie museum exhibition. Since Bowie apparently left no memoirs behind, the closest thing to an autobiography is this list of books. Some he chooses because he wants his fans to read them, but many selections have a deeper resonance, as they fueled his work and shaped him as a person.
