This notion that Manchester United's fortunes changed last season because Mainoo started playing is one of the biggest myths I've seen. United's fortunes changed because Carrick went back to the football these players were comfortable with. Sit deep. Stay compact. Attack in transitions. Counter when the opportunity is there. If Carrick had partnered Ugarte with Casemiro instead of Mainoo, I believe United would've still finished third. Nothing we achieved last season happened because of one player. It happened because the style of play changed. Stop confusing correlation with causation.

I knew something was fishy when Thomas Tuchel didn’t play Kobbie Mainoo. It turned out to be an attitude problem. Behind the scenes, Kobbie Mainoo has a disgusting character when others plays ahead of him. He keeps a gloomy face for the media to find something to talk about and let the whole world knows he isn’t happy. Zirkzee will always be a good example, playing or not, he cheer on the team but Mainoo will give attitude problems. Mainoo ego is getting to his head.

Almost every Manchester United fan is battering Thomas Tuchel for playing the same ball Carrick played throughout last season. When we were screaming that Carrick plays an unsustainable football, this was what we meant but the difference between the two is that Tuchel did it against a bigger team/country, Carrick does it against teams like Brentford and Fulham and Leeds and Sunderland. I knew this Tuchel hate and sack call would come because Tuchel didn’t play Kobbie Mainoo in any match but I never expected the whole Manchester United Fanbase to be on Tuchel more than the English media and fans.

Lowkey, INEOS are still moving like Ed Woodward you all criticize. Aston Villa got Youri Tielemans as a free agent and sold him to us at €41m after 3 years. Chelsea got Andrey Santos, who they didn’t use, for €20m and sold him to us for €58m. All I can say, for now, is that INEOS have shifted from long term planning to short term planning and if it’s what the fans want, I may reluctantly join the queue. 👍
