“Nasboi told me that I don’t have value because I asked for transport fare. I’ve been working with him since 2022. Because of my weight, I don’t use public transport because they don’t want to carry me, so I always take Uber. After the skit is done, Nasboi would give me ₦10,000.” — Content creator Angel Baba Orobo calls out Nasboi.

Sheik Gumi calls out the government for failing to dialogue with Boko Haram, B@ndits like they did with Niger-Delta militants Controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has questioned why no government official has visited Boko Haram t£rrorists and b@ndits to negotiate an end to their vi%lence, the way past Nigerian leaders engaged Niger Delta militants. In a Facebook post on Saturday, Gumi recalled that former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo both visited militants in the Niger Delta creeks and returned with programmes aimed at ending militancy in the region. “The former President Jonathan visited delta militants in the creeks, so also the former vice president Osinbajo. They all came up with a program to tame the militants,” he wrote. He then asked who would be willing to extend similar engagement to Boko Haram and bandits without facing public criticism. “Who is going to visit BH and Bandits to tame them without f%%ls castigating them?” he asked. Gumi, who has consistently advocated dialogue with armed groups in the North-West and North-East, has previously visited b@ndit camps in Zamfara and other states, arguing that negotiation rather than military force offers a better chance of ending the vi%lence. The cleric has repeatedly denied supporting terr%rism, insisting his advocacy is solely aimed at ending the bl%%dshed through dialogue and rehabilitation.

Kano State bans ‘after-party’ and ‘hot challenge’ activities at weddings, warns violators of legal sanctions The Kano State Censorship Board has announced the immediate suspension of activities popularly known as “after-party” and “hot challenge” at weddings and other social events held at event centres across the state. The board’s Executive Secretary, Abba El-Mustapha, announced the directive in a statement issued on Saturday by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Sulaiman. According to the statement, the move is part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with regulations guiding the activities of masters of ceremony (MCs) and event centres in Kano. “The attention of the board has been drawn to the growing trend of this activity, which is considered a Western cultural practice increasingly introduced into wedding celebrations in the state. Consequently, the board has suspended the practice in order to safeguard the cultural, moral and religious values of the people of Kano State,” the statement said. The board explained that the decision aligns with its mandate to sanitise entertainment activities and ensure public events are conducted in line with the state’s cultural and religious values. While stressing that entertainment remains an important part of weddings and other celebrations, the board said such activities must promote morality, respect local culture and conform to religious teachings. It also directed all event centres, MCs, event planners and other stakeholders involved in organising social events to comply fully with the directive, warning that anyone found violating the suspension could face legal sanctions under the state’s laws. The board further urged residents to support its enforcement efforts by promptly reporting any event centre or MC found organising or promoting the suspended activities within Kano State.
