While we are at it, Former Senate President Pius Anyim has secured a consensus ticket to the Ebonyi state house of assembly for his beloved son. Umahi’s son is also contesting. Wike’s son following suit Buhari’s son too. The political class is slowly handing power to their beloved children And like nature, the survival will be of the fittest.. might is right.

@therealFadaca No ooo. His faction are in the cold at the moment because with the upreme court upholding the suspension of Sam Uwanyawhu and the legal adviser, it renders their own convention of March also null and void. So Lamido and co doesn't have a platform for eletons.

When I said yesterday that the defection of HE Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ADC to NDC is part of the original plan that was designed by the coalition of opposition parties, some political novices and children thought i was just bluffing. But here is the plan, according to the master strategist of all times, HE Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai: Obi will pair with Kwankwaso, while Atiku pairs Ameachi. If the northerners do not want to vote for a Christian, they have Atiku, they can vote for him. If the obedients and southern Christians, on the other hand, do not want a northerner to take power from Tinubu, they have Peter Obi to vote for. Either ways, it's a win for the coalition. The ultimate goal is to take Tinubu out of power and bring the country back on track. In addition to the above, and according to the political mathematics of our ever-brilliant Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, either the ticket of Peter Obi/Kwankwaso or Atiku/Ameachi will come 1st and 2nd in 2027 election, then bringing Tinubu to a 3rd position. That's why he said on an interview that there may be a tie between the ticket of 0bi/Kwankwaso and Atiku/Ameachi which may lead to a run-off. The exit of Kwankwaso and Obi from the ADC, therefore, is not a political misstep or any accident. It is rather a strategy to get Tinubu out of power and this strategy will work in one way or the other. -Obah

@Bim_Hopfan_MOG @Pharmacio001 Really? I guess I should enjoy the drama then and watch how BAT will lose since he doesn't have votes according to you. He isn't even playing religion card at the moment, just consolidating on the political alignment he has made over time.

@adeh_21 @Pharmacio001 No loyalist are locking down votes for BAT or APC in this current situation, except they rig it. Northern votes is being divided along tribe/religion—reason religion got votes for BAT and tribe got votes for AA in 2023. The only solution for APC is if BAT is not on the ballot.

@thatsavagedude2 @drizule @Pharmacio001 I don't know what to take that as but I hope it's not resentment though. Back to the matter, I still stand on my view that the opposition are far from unsettling BAT especially with the poor cohesion and lack of joint efforts whatsoever amongst them all.

@crixusay @Pharmacio001 Exactly my thoughts as well. If all these couldn't stop him during a transition election, is it now that he has power of incumbency that he will be moved? The opposition had their chance in '23 but ego and greed made them to blow it and we are witnessing a repeat leading to '27.

@Bim_Hopfan_MOG @Pharmacio001 Sincerely, I wish I have your kind of conviction on this matter, but when impulse and fantasies are removed, and the obvious reality sets in for us all, you and I will agree that the man has his loyalists locking down votes for him while the opposition remain in induced limbo.

@adeh_21 @Pharmacio001 Which string vote base sir? The permutations are correct. The government may even try to shift or cancel the election because of this, the guy's calculations are correct to remove them. Who wants to vote for them? South West? Lol. Once they don't have north at all, that's all.

@AnekeTony @Pharmacio001 National interest is far from the table, rather it's individual ambition that is portrayed has rescue mission. If it's not so, why would the opposition be so distant in thoughts and ideas on the direction to go at this time, while the incumbent is consolidating his grounds. 🤔

@adeh_21 @Pharmacio001 That has been the bane of Nigeria. If Atiku hadn't played that game with GEJ in 2015, perhaps we would not be singing the Lord's song in a strange land. But I believe that national interests will override any personal ego. Anything else is the death of the country. They know that

Hi @SuellaBraverman , 48 hours ago I asked you to substantiate or withdraw your claim that “250,000 foreign students took £4bn in UK loans.” That time has now passed. You have provided no evidence, no clarification, and no correction. I have taken the time to examine the data myself. I have reviewed materials from the Student Loans Company, the Department for Education, the House of Commons Library, the UK Statistics Authority, and reporting from Times Higher Education. Across these sources, one thing is clear. Your statement is presented in a way that gives the public a deeply misleading impression. Let’s deal with this carefully. The £4bn figure you reference relates to the total value of student loans issued to non UK nationals. It is not a direct cost to the taxpayer. These are loans. They are repaid over time based on income. Presenting that figure as if it were money handed out or lost is not an accurate reflection of how the system works. Then there is your use of the phrase “foreign students.” This is where the distortion becomes more serious. The fact (which you know quite well) is those eligible for UK student finance are not newly arrived international students. They are people with settled status, indefinite leave to remain, refugee status, or long term lawful residence in the UK. They live here. They work here. They pay into the system. And under the law, they are entitled to access student finance. Standard international students on student visas are generally not eligible for these loans. By leaving out that distinction, you create a very different picture in the minds of the public. One where large numbers of people are arriving from abroad and immediately accessing public funds. That is not what the data shows. You also cited a figure of 250,000 without pointing to a clearly published dataset or transparent methodology. Numbers like this carry weight. They should be used with care, not as loose estimates in politically charged statements. I am not interested in party politics. But I am concerned about what this kind of messaging is doing to the country. When lending is presented as spending, and long term residents are presented as outsiders, it fuels resentment. It deepens division. It creates tension where clarity is needed. And ordinary people end up carrying the consequences of that confusion. Like I was being racially attacked and profiled in my initial response to you in X by supporters of your party who were obviously misled and triggered by your misinformation. I did consider legal action. But the reality is that the law is not designed to deal easily with this kind of broad public misrepresentation. You know that, which is why ignoring a challenge like mine carries little immediate consequence. That does not make it acceptable. I will be submitting a formal complaint to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards regarding your use of misleading statistical claims in public communication. The public deserves accuracy. Not selective framing. Not distortion. And certainly not narratives that risk turning people against each other on the basis of incomplete facts. Stephen Dada.
Suella Braverman@SuellaBraverman

Too many universities are selling immigration, not education. Last year, about 250,000 foreign students took up taxpayer-funded student loans to pay for their courses in the UK, worth £4bn. This is not fair. A @reformparty_uk government will make sure that the British taxpayer is not paying for foreign students. Let’s put British students first.

@adeh_21 @Pharmacio001 It may be possible that either of the two, Atiku/Amaechi or Obi/Kwakwanso, will revert and support the other without fielding any candidates. This will ensure that they keep their voting base intact. Makes sense

@drizule @Pharmacio001 South West, for sure he will breeze past other candidates, North Central he will pull his weight. In the SE, he knows he has Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi can be splited. Basically, BAT only wants pockets of votes here and there, just like 2023. He doesn't have mine though.

At some point, the courts will have to make it clear that it is not an arena for dubious and silly political theatrics. Some of these political litigations are just senseless. Lawyers who are filing senseless cases in our courts should be sanctioned. If INEC receives applications from different groups seeking to be registered as political parties, and decides to register some and ignore others for reasons best known to it, it is left for the aggrieved groups that have been denied registration to seek redress in court against INEC. The Court, based on the evidence and the facts before it, can compel INEC to register more political parties. Suing the political parties that INEC have registered, and asking the court to compel INEC to deregister them, because you felt marginalized, cannot be a sensible legal strategy. Every group has a distinct right to seek registration. You can’t argue that because group “A” was denied registration as a political party, therefore INEC had no constitutional right to register group “B”. As lawyers, we should stop ridiculing our noble profession. We owe a duty to the Court and the cause of justice, not only to partisan clients.

@IU_Wakilii Unfortunately, PO feels everyone owe him the ticket because he is an Igbo man. No doubt, I believe in his capacity just like AA, but this is politics, where strategy and concessions are key. But when you have a man with the mentality of Obi, forming an alliance is a waste of time

FACTS ARE STUBBORN and here is one! First of all, I do not care about Atiku Abubakar’s ambition, I also do not care about Peter Obi’s ambition, it is important we settle this first. With Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi on the ballot flying different tickets, Atiku has a far better chance of polling more votes than him. The ADC has done absolutely nothing to Peter Obi for him to dump the party and jump ship again, so if he leaves there will be no emotional blackmail, no sympathy wave, and no convincing moral argument to market his departure, especially to Northern voters who are already skeptical of fragmented opposition politics. Of course Peter Obi will retain his South East and a good part of the South South, that is not in doubt. But elections in Nigeria are not won with regional loyalty alone, they are won with trust spread across blocs, and right now that wider trust sits more naturally with a coalition-backed ticket than with another solo Obi adventure. For Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, this will be tge time that the lingering “sellout” tag that has been searching for a comfortable place to rest on his head will become fully established if he chooses to stand outside a collective arrangement again. Many anti-Tinubu voters who may not even like Atiku personally will still see ADC as the main protest vehicle simply because it represents sacrifice, compromise and a common front. But that does not automatically mean ADC wins, but ADC will certainly poll better than the “OK”ticket floated on another platform because Nigerians are exhausted by ego contests dressed as rescue missions. The best, and frankly the only realistic path for Peter Obi to get to Aso Villa is through coalition structures. Either as Vice President on a balanced national ticket and later President, or as Presidential candidate of a united opposition, I genuinely believe he can win with the backing of the ADC. Anything outside that is ambition, not strategy.
