I will never forget the day that a patient relative slapped my intern.
It was years ago.
I respectfully told the head of unit and HOD surgery that I could not continue to see that patient.
I wrote it km his case file and stated the reason.
The patients relative insisted he was right. His siblings and cousins begged.
Do you know what's funny?
He's the nephew of the Baba.
They later started saying I was heartless, what if he is my father etc?
I didn't flinch.
I insisted that he had to apologise to my intern.
The HOD surgery begged us.
I actually discharged them and insisted that they should write a letter of apology to the hospital and the doctor before readmitting.
It's truly not a way to live.
I've not heard of people beating bankers
You'll want to do something in your account. You'll spend 5 hours, no complaints, but you can't spend 4 hours to see a doctor at the outpatient department without losing your cool. Shame!

As a HO then once a patient raises their voice even a little bit and is rude I stop attending and call hospital security because it can go left very fucking quickly Especially being a woman Many instances I’ve been scared a patients relative will be aggressive. We shouldn’t be living like this

Had this happen to me recently when I was traveling with my family. First I just said no thank you. Then this woman gave me this sob story and when I frankly said, “So you want to separate me from my family so you can sit with your family?” She said “Yes” with a straight face.
