رحل الروائي والصحافي #الياس_خوري، ظهر اليوم، عن عمر ناهز الـ76 عاماً، أمضى أكثر من نصف قرن منها في الكتابة الروائية والصحفية، حاملاً لواء الدفاع عن الحريّة والعلمانيّة و #القضية_الفلسطينية، من دون أن يفقد يوماً إيمانه بدور المثقّف وقدرته على التغيير. عمل خوري في عدد من المجلات الثقافية قبل أن يتسلّم القسم الثقافي في صحيفة «#السفير». كما تولّى إعادة إطلاق الملحق الأدبي لصحيفة «#النهار» العام 1992، وبقي رئيساً لتحريره حتى العام 2007. ثمّ أصبح رئيس تحرير مجلة الدراسات الفلسطينية. في كلّ هذه المواقع الصحفية، كما في رواياته، كان الياس خوري لبنانياً وسورياً وفلسطينياً. روى الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية في «الوجوه البيضاء» و«رحلة غاندي الصغير» و«يالو» وغيرها. روى حكاية #فلسطين في «باب الشمس» و«ثلاثية أولاد الغيتو». فتح صفحات «ملحق النهار» للمعارضة السوريّة وآمن بـ«ربيع دمشق»، قبل أن يصبح نصيراً أميناً للثورة السوريّة. لعب الياس خوري دوراً أساسياً في الحياة الثقافية في #بيروت التسعينات، سواء من خلال «ملحق النهار» أو عبر عمله مديراً فنّياً لمسرح بيروت. قاد المعارضة الثقافية لمشروع سوليدير، ثمّ للنظام الأمني الذي حاول القبض على الحريات، قبل أن يساهم في تأسيس حركة اليسار الديمقراطي في العام 2004.
