YES!! that aunt is me😭
you must be wondering how i ended up in this situation, so here is the tea
i was exhausted and feeling too lazy to do the hard work, so i asked my friend to help me out with an app i could use to edit my video
and guess what, my friend was lazier than me lol, he just searched on google and literally sent me the first link he saw
the link he sent me was from a site designed to fool users into clicking it instead of the real one
silly me, i had so many reasons to not do it, i still installed it knowing everything lmao
- pc flagged it as trojan immediately
- "i" in the url that shouldn't be there
- 42mb file for a simple video editor
- i literally moved my wallets off the pc first
i asked about all of this to him but my suspicion was crushed by my friend assuring me he downloads it the same way
and i guess i trust my friend more than my own brain😂
anyways, what's done is done. i didn't lose much but learned some lessons
> never keep wallets on the pc you use for everything
> never make decisions that can impact you when you're feeling lazy
> trust, but always verify
i am grateful to the friends who helped me out quickly in transferring my ENS, clean installing my windows, giving suggestions etc.
and the friend because of whom my wallet got drained has already sent me the drained amount
