Does disdain for women increase the pay gap? Yes Evidence from Google In US states where search terms are often misogynist, employers are probably more prejudiced, and women earn less than men. economics.uci.edu/files/docs/202… Elizabeth Malony, JMP.

When I finished the first edition of my intro book and sent it for editing, I thought I was home free. Then the publisher returned the edited manuscript. The most memorable edit: every instance of “maximum likelihood estimator” had been changed to “most likely estimator.”

To repeat, if I have one takeaway for applied researchers it’s this: 👏Don’t pre-test with F👏. 👏Use a weak IV robust inference method instead.👏 16/16

I encourage young econometricians: don't just prove theorems; learn more economics, and work with empirically applied economists. The demand for econometrics is greater than ever; go out and supply what's needed! 4/4 #EconTwitter #economics

This is 100% the right move. This will help us beat this terrible virus. The science is unanimous - if we all wear masks, we slow down the spread and can reopen safely. It’s not a political issue. Anyone making it a political issue is an absolute moron who can’t read.
Gavin Newsom@GavinNewsom

NEW: Californians are now REQUIRED to wear face coverings in public spaces. Together -- we can slow the spread. Do your part. Wear a mask. LEARN MORE: covid19.ca.gov
