The most famous atheist in the world fell in love with a chatbot after three days of use and decided it was sentient because it liked his book.
Just lol.
Wtf is going on in Canada?!
Inside the Ontario Legislative Building nonetheless.
This is just a glimpse into the future of this country unless things drastically change.
@Matt_Pinner A. Yes of course.
He's a great actor & a brilliant director.
The fact that he called Trump "a punk" is a bonus,
but it wouldn't get me to buy tickets
to spend my time in the theater.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
When Canada's next Census of Population will be released people will be shocked.
The transformation of Canada is car ahead than what people think.
@MarioNawfal I noticed 2 things
1. Canada has been overrun by the Muslims
2. Everybody is just on their phones no individual interactions
And this is very bad, hope Canada doesn’t become like London soon
@BayouPhilosophy Whether morality is subjective or objective, but I don’t understand how theism makes morality objective. Wouldn’t God be just another subject? If it’s objective, then why can’t it be objective without God? Also, curious about this external source/God, does it need to be all-good?
@Race__Realist@cinematicfever@asa_bruss@SwipeWright I can’t see how that follows on a dualist view. That’s strict materialism — and very strong evidence that the brain generates consciousness and it’s there as long as the brain is intact. (And it’s mainly why I am a materialist, as well.)
@zabdullahkhan_@cinematicfever@asa_bruss@SwipeWright How do those things not follow on a dualist account that holds that the brain is a necessary pre-condition for human mindedness but not a sufficient condition? (Along with breathing, having a human brain, bio-chemical/electric activity in gbe brain, neurons, etc.)
We're not in a "simulation" folks. That's just an insane thing to seriously believe. It's based on a modal fallacy that fools you into concluding that something is certain because it is simply possible.
There are lots of arguments that attempt to do that, especially regarding simulations and the existence of God. They all try to avoid doing the hard work of making an actual argument and presenting compelling evidence. They should not be seriously entertained outside a Sci-Fi movie.
@cinematicfever@asa_bruss@SwipeWright There’s compelling evidence that consciousness is local. For example, anesthetic drugs affecting/altering consciousness and people either completely losing consciousness or having altered consciousness after brain injury. I don’t see any evidence to the contrary.
@Helenreflects@RobinVMoose I wonder why only a handful of people experience that. Why doesn’t everyone experience something similar if there’s more to it. (I chose the second option.)
@Horganism Assuming people can be persuaded by argument that they have no free will is close to a kind of contradiction in terms. Why bother to persuade?
@MoutalRoland@AmiDar@ShaiDavidai I lived among Christians in Pakistan. No one stopped them and we would wake up to their late night Christmas celebration (fireworks). One lady would also come to our house.
