"No one promised you easy." This was engrained in me by one of my mentors. Throughout my baseball career, I repeated it hundreds of times. The truth is the things we all want in life are hard. Want to be a great parent? It is hard. Want to be a great spouse? It is hard. Want to be a professional athlete? It is hard. Want to be a successful entrepreneur? It is hard. They require you showing up when you don't feel like it. Look at the most "successful" (however you define it) people you know. I bet they have been doing the thing they are "successful" at for a long time. I guarantee you one thing, they have days that are hard. No one promised it would be easy.

Here’s some lessons I learned from my pretty below-average baseball career: 1. There is absolutely no reason to go through an entire mechanical shift during the middle of a season. Like Hunter, it’s week 3 of conference play you aren’t becoming Yu Darvish right now.

Scouts and “analysts” said I was a one-inning guy and too small to hold up as a starter. Turns out…I’m a workhorse. They can’t predict work ethic. Young athletes…never let a soul deter you from your dreams or stop you from shining your light. Go be legendary through it all! 🗣️
