@thefish64 Even finding the number of students in the year group is hard, but it was approximately 55,000. So clearly a significantly smaller proportion of student students study a language in Scotland than in England.

Maybe I missed it, but I can't seem to find a key statistic, namely, what percentage of the cohort take a language at standard grade. Because if it's below 48%, it's below the percentage doing a GCSE in MFL in England.

@thefish64 I have not been able to find any statistics that allow you to find this comparison with England. The language trends report suggest that there were 21930 entries in 2025 at these levels.

@thefish64 It’s very difficult to find this number. Standard grades have been replaced by national four (broadly equivalent to level one in England) and national five (level two). It’s possible to take these when ready rather than at the age of 15/16.

Yes release ALL the Mandelson data. But ALSO release the same data on LEBEDEV, OWEN, ELLIOTT, GOVE and the other grifters who shouldn’t be in the HoL. AND the Russia Report. AND the Brexit impact reports. AND Farage’s links to Russian funding.
