Terrence Maoneke of Chipinge, Rimbi area has rejected the proposed Amendment Bill No. 3 in its entirety. He stated that if there is a genuine need to extend the term of office, such an extension must not benefit the current sitting councillors, Members of Parliament, or the President. Maoneke also called for the principle of “one man, one vote,” noting that some MPs have repeatedly moved in and out of Parliament without effectively representing their constituencies. Above all, he emphasized that since this is a matter of public concern, it should be put to the people to decide through referendum.
