Movements lose direction when they begin chasing every voice instead of advancing their mission. Our task remains unchanged: defend the Constitution, protect constitutionalism, support lawful processes, engage communities, and keep citizens at the centre. The issue has never been personalities. It has always been Zimbabwe. Stay focused. Stay organised. Stay peaceful. #DefendTheConstitution

Today I wish to acknowledge all citizens and leaders who stepped forward before the Constitutional Court in defence of constitutionalism. Special appreciation to Godfrey Gurira (co-applicant & DCP War Veterans Desk Co-Head), Prince Dubeko (Head, DCP Citizens Engagement Desk), and Prof. Lovemore Madhuku, lead Advocate and NCA leader. This effort was not for individuals, positions or organisations. It was for Zimbabweans. A reminder that democratic work is collective work. Different actors. One constitutional purpose. Mandate is not declared — it is earned through service, organisation and showing up. The Court has reserved judgment. #DefendTheConstitution

Today, the Constitutional Court sits on matters touching the future of our constitutional order. We respect the independence of the Court and trust that the Constitution will speak through its institutions. Our disengagement from the public hearings was not a withdrawal from constitutional action, but a refusal to legitimise a flawed process. The defence of the Constitution continues through lawful, peaceful and organised means. #DefendTheConstitutionPlatform

As we await the reconvening of Parliament, this is not the time for distraction, fragmentation or personality contests. It is the time for focus, discipline and coordination. Across civil society, churches, legal actors and political formations, a constitutional consensus is steadily emerging. Zimbabwe’s future will not be secured by individuals acting alone, but by disciplined collective action anchored in constitutionalism. #DefendTheConstitution

Parliament has been adjourned to 2 June. Do not be distracted. Keep your eyes on the ball. Across civic, legal, church and political actors, a common position is steadily consolidating — anchored in constitutionalism and the defence of our democratic order. Let us strengthen that unity through discipline, maturity, sobriety and coordination. #DefendTheConstitution

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mother figures. Today we honour your love, sacrifice, strength, and quiet resilience. You carry families, communities, and nations often without recognition. May you be celebrated not only today, but every day. To all mothers in Zimbabwe and across the world — thank you. 🌹

I join the people of Botswana, the African continent, and the global community in mourning the passing of former President Festus Gontebanye Mogae. President Mogae represented principled, disciplined and accountable leadership. Under his stewardship, Botswana strengthened its reputation for stability, democratic governance, and prudent economic management. His contribution to African leadership and public service will endure beyond his lifetime. My sincere condolences to his family, the Government and people of Botswana.

#LetFreedomSing Determing Patriotic Wealth by Brian Tamuka Kagoro I don't like calling anyone a thief or corrupt without evidence. I like to assume that some folks either have a great business acumen or are lucky in business . I am not naive , I just think that everyone must be judged on the basis of evidence. Political protection isn't the same as permanent absolution from liability for statutory liability. No presidential pardons can legitimately be accorded for wilfully undermining national economic growth and development. It is important to remember that the President of any country is neither the country itself nor the law . So , liability for serious economic crimes doesn't rot or expire. Across Africa, it has become fashionable for Tenderpreneurs, Celebrities , businessmen, and faith leaders to flaunt their material possessions and cash . This distasteful flaunting of wealth is driving all forms of materialism in our society. The tendency is to dismiss it as either evil or the outcome of grand corruption. It may very well be occultism and grand corruption. But we need to ask questions beyond the origin-of-wealth ones. We need to ask questions about these individuals' contributions to the fiscus. In my view ,one way to tell whether tenderpreneurs, thieves-cum-philanthropists , and self-proclaimed millionaires are patriotic- let alone rich - is to ask the national revenue authorities in each country how much income each of these characters have declared each year and whether they have paid tax commensurate with their publicly flaunted wealth ? Additionally, the revenue authorities could legitimately look at their asset base and see if it is consistent with the income declared for taxation purposes? All other enquiries can follow afterwards

Harare Hospital is in crisis. Nurses are on go-slow after being shortchanged. No basic medicines. Lives are being lost while public funds are diverted to luxury cars for the connected few. This is a failure of priorities—and of accountability. #LetsSaveZimbabwe

We are not acting alone. A united constitutional front is emerging — bringing together civic, legal and political actors. Unity is our strength. Discipline is our advantage. Remain focused. Remain aligned. #LetThePeopleDecide

We at DCP want to tell you straight from our hearts that our National Youth Leader Emmanuel Sitima is now being held at CID Law and Order after being taken in Mabvuku by eight unknown men who showed no warrant and gave no explanation, and we believe this arrest is political because the only thing he has ever done is defend the Constitution and fight for a better future for Zimbabwe and its young people, which should never be a crime in a country that claims to be free. We are grateful to @ZLHRLawyers for already stepping in to handle his case, and our comrades who visited him say he is still in high spirits and resolute even after everything, which tells you the kind of man we are dealing with ,one who refuses to be broken by fear or force. We do not yet know when he will appear in court, but we want every Zimbabwean to know that we will not abandon him, we will not shut up and we will keep demanding his release until he is standing with us again as a free man. #FreeSitima #FreeEmmanuelSitima @amnesty_zim @DCPYouths @DougColtart @DubekoSibanda @ercafrica @HStvNews @OpenParlyZw @zimsolidarity01 @zpdizw @ProtectHRDs @NewsDayZimbabwe @HeraldZimbabwe @SADC_News @SABCNews @ZBCNewsonline @LynneStactia @advocatemahere @agencygumbo @molokele @OMasaraure @JobSikhala1 @BBCWorld @cnnbrk @BBCBreaking @FoxNews @ABC @daddyhope @namataik_ @ngadziore @mutamba_tsitsi

I have seen a post alleging that I was part of a conversation concerning Atherstone and Cook and Mr Nelson Chamisa. I have not spoken to anyone on this matter and I have not authorised anyone to speak on my behalf. I will not engage in speculation. My focus remains on CAB3 and the principle that no constitutional changes should occur without a referendum. #DefendTheConstitution

Defend The Constitution Platform
PRESS STATEMENT By Senator Jameson Zvidzai Timba Convenor – Defend the Constitution Platform (DCP) Harare | [10 April, 2026] Executive Interference in Independent Commissions Must Be Rejected The purported reassignment of Ms Jessie Majome from the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission to the Public Service Commission raises grave constitutional concerns. This action is not administrative. It is constitutional. The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission is an independent constitutional body, established under Chapter 12 of the Constitution, and protected from interference by any arm of the State. Its leadership cannot be reassigned at will. The Constitution is clear: A Commissioner may only be removed through a transparent tribunal process, grounded in law and due process. No such process has been presented. What is being described as a “reassignment” is, in substance, a removal without due process. This is unconstitutional. A Dangerous Precedent The timing of this action, coming shortly after the Commission raised concerns regarding the conduct of public hearings, is deeply troubling. It sends a message that: Speaking truth carries consequences Oversight institutions must align or be neutralised Constitutional bodies are subject to executive convenience This is not how a constitutional democracy functions. Our Position We therefore state the following: The reassignment is unconstitutional and invalid It represents executive encroachment into an independent Commission It undermines the integrity of all constitutional oversight bodies Our Demands We call for: The immediate reversal of this decision Full disclosure of the legal basis for this action Protection of all Commissioners from political interference The Broader Principle Independent Commissions are not extensions of the Executive. They are guardians of the Constitution. When they are weakened, the Constitution itself is weakened. Conclusion Zimbabwe cannot defend its Constitution while simultaneously eroding the institutions designed to protect it. This is not merely about one individual. It is about whether the Constitution still governs power — or power now governs the Constitution. #CitizensFirst #DefendTheConstitution @OpenParlyZw @LynneStactia @MacBelts @263Chat @HStvNews @daddyhope @NewsHawksLive @NewZimbabweCom @nytimes @BBCWorld @SABCNews @ZLHRLawyers @ProtectHRDs @euinzim @zhrc365 @SADC_News @UNHumanRights

@Jamwanda2 @daddyknosi ZHRC is a Chapter 12 Commission. Commissioners can only be removed or moved after a tribunal and not at the pleasure of a President. The PSC is an Executive Commission
