@advent1013 It's Running-Length but palettized, so for a 2bit B&W (or any 2 colors) image it compresses extremely well. Big 2bit images can only be a few hundred bytes, etc. It checks to see if further compression with LZSS is smaller, and if so it uses that. Super lightweight too!

fixed it! this new method compresses pixelart better than PNG! BMP: 5.4KB PNG: 2.1KB mine: 1.2KB Almost half the size, and uncompresses faster too. Another test of a 4-color 32x32 sprite came down to 139 bytes. Quite often less than half the size of PNG.
