@smerconish trade deficits aren’t inherently bad and if we are looking to get the Chinese to stop currency manipulation (the actual bad thing they are doing). It didn’t need to be done is such an irresponsible way that ultimately hurts small business owners.

You were inarticulate. So you think we should just live with this trade imbalance? All @smerconish was asking you is whether China’s entree to discuss tariffs with Trump may indicate Trump is right for saying the US has been getting screwed for decades. Not to mention our vulnerability over supply chains we shipped to China/Asia for things like metals, chips and healthcare equipment.

But it gets pretty complicated, especially if you don’t want to pass the total cost to your customer. At @DameProducts we put a number (but it doesn’t actually get added in top)

They would never display country of origin stickers when selling their products, so why would they show tariff pricing now? Also how would they even calculate that? Would they require the retailers to provide the info? Or is just an educated guess? All of this makes it feel political.
