History is shaped by deliberate choices. Today at KICD, we make one. Under #SheriayaVijana, project, @Oayouthkenya convenes scholars, #civilsocietyleaders, practitioners, and #youngleaders to formally name and professionalize youth work in Kenya. The launch of the Youth Workers Community of Practice moves youth work from goodwill to grounded, strategic influence — aligning with the Kenya National Youth Development Policy (2019), the @EUinKenya Smart Youth Work Strategy, and the African Youth Charter. We will define competencies, codify ethics, strengthen standards, and document evidence that shapes policy and investment. In a green and digital era, we ask: What does a modern #youthworker look like? How do we embed gender inclusion? How do we protect dignity while expanding opportunity? Today, we build the foundation for youth workers to anchor Kenya’s socio-economic transformation. #Youthempowerment
