AOC introduced a national rent control bill in 2019 that went nowhere, and it's hard to imagine any rent regulations passing this Congress. And the Supreme Court could strike them down if they did. You guys lost to a charismatic political newcomer with some baggage and tried to run a 70+ year old and voters said no. Shouldn’t you be mad at the strategy and the people who pushed it, not just the outcome?

It’s interesting that people who don’t like Platner aren’t furious that the party establishment pushed a very elderly candidate who couldn’t raise money to run in a swing state seat. Shouldn’t that be the real source of frustration? You guys got played completely.

For weeks folks have known Cuomo was *likely* using his old campaign funds to carry out revenge on @LindseyBoylan - the question is why her opponents’ allies aligned? Nadler called on Cuomo to resign early.
This was a natural story for reporters to dig into early.

Based on the high turnout in the City Council District 3 special election, my prediction is a narrow victory (under 5 points) for Boylan after RCV. It’s still very possible Wilson could win, but the high turnout suggests to me the mayor has mobilized his supporters.
