I want to offer my condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of Russia’s latest attacks in the Kyiv region and in Sloviansk. During the strikes, Russia has also destroyed Latvia’s Honorary Consulate. Once again proving its complete disregard for diplomacy. Europe stands in full solidarity with Latvia and Ukraine. Russia is losing the war it started, and is increasingly targeting civilians in a desperate attempt to crush Ukraine’s spirit. But Ukraine’s spirit is unbreakable. And so is Europe’s resolve to support Ukraine’s defence.

Efforts to determine exactly what happened and the fate of those affected are ongoing. All necessary emergency services are on the scene. There were also casualties in Slovyansk following guided aerial bomb strikes. Five people were killed. My condolences to their families. Nine others were injured. The Russians damaged ordinary homes, the consulate building, and vehicles. These were brutal attacks on civilians, and the Russians must be held accountable for them. Russia has long abandoned any regard for international norms – and for human values. Their only interest is in continuing the killing. It is important that our partners fully understand that protecting lives also depends on them. Interceptors for Patriot systems are the number one priority.

We have agreed on the 21st sanctions package against Russia. It delivers sweeping measures targeting Moscow’s financial system, its military-industrial complex and energy sector, that keep Russia's war economy running. We are hitting Putin where it hurts most: cutting off the financial lifelines he relies on to sustain his war. This is not the end of the road on sanctions. We are already working on the next steps. The EU must be ready to respond to any further Russian escalation.

The US Ambassador to NATO is here in Ukraine. Russia is about to get hit with secondary sanctions by the Trump administration and lose 80% of their external market value. That’s what they get for transporting weapons and explosives to Iran for the sake of killing US soldiers. At this point in time, I don’t care about what the media says about me or anyone’s opinion about why I came to Ukraine. I am deeply disturbed as an American citizen about how many Americans minds have been warped to support Russia’s third world slop that pushes communism and a multipolar world where Xi, the Ayatollah and Putin are our masters. I hope the DOJ in the US starts cracking down on Americans who participate in Russia and Iran’s networks of disinformation and influence peddling. When I return to the US, I will be happy to assist with investigating Americans who engage in these treasonous activities.
