🚨 Al Jazeera analyst Ali Hashem lays out where US-Iran talks stand before the day 2 conversations begin: ➤ Framework to work on a deal is mostly in place ➤ “The framework agreement is a means to regulate the conflict and extend the ceasefire period until genuine settlements are reached.” ➤ Ghalibaf–Vance meeting described as cordial, built on foundation they set in prior channels ➤ Main sticking points: Lebanon ceasefire + Strait of Hormuz ➤ Iran pushing to formalize sovereignty over Hormuz ➤ Wants China & Russia involved in agreement enforcement mechanism ➤ Open to Omani/Geneva nuclear framework agreed earlier, rejects missile limits ➤ Iran seeking full end to war + a peace treaty with US ratified by Congress and the Iranian Shura Council + end of hostilities documented in the UN Security Council + and immediate lifting of all sanctions

US corporate media does so much work to dehumanize Iranian leaders. Soleimani was a prime example of this, where the same glaring, foreboding image of him is the sole depiction shown to western audiences. Reality reveals that men like Khamenei, Soleimani, Ghalibaf and Argahchi - while strong and resolute - are also caring, sensitive, loving people who have no reservations about revealing their full humanity in public. We in the west are the truly dehumanized ones; our governments murder these people in cold blood and full abandon, then we rejoice over their extrajudicial executions and mock their mourners with sadistic glee on social media - and then wonder why they call America "The Great Satan".

@karaokecomputer It's truly remarkable how psychopathic this ideal is, and it has done incomprehensible damage via colonialism and eugenics for generations. All that work to make themselves feel strong by enslaving and slaughtering, yet they're the weakest, most pathetic leaders on the planet.

@karaokecomputer Men in the West are afraid of their own emotions, of love, sacrifice and trust, more than anything else. Our leaders would never show this as caring for other human beings is seen as shameful. That's why they will always underestimate Indigenous resistance, spirit, and strength.

After the US requested a ceasefire, Iran had set conditions for starting talks. • The release of Iranian assets • Ceasefire in Lebanon were among the preconditions. The Pakistani mediator announced that the US agreed to these terms. However, so far, nothing has been done. Of course, Iran hasn’t remained idle in response to the US breach of agreement and has maintained the previous status of oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Shocking images have begun to emerge from inside prisons, revealing a reality beyond endurance. This photo was taken yesterday of a young man who was transferred directly to the hospital after his release from prison, his body exhausted and severely damaged by neglect. The doctor who examined him was in shock, saying she had never seen such a case before. Norwegian scabies is spreading rapidly inside prisons, leading to a severe deterioration in prisoners’ health. There is no medical care, no medication, no water for bathing, no hygiene supplies, and not even clean clothes. Suffering worsens day after day with no intervention. Where is the world in all of this? Where are those who speak about human rights? What is happening is not just neglect, but a humanitarian catastrophe being committed in silence… as if these victims do not exist.

When my brother was released from prison, he was no longer the same it was not just a release, but as if he carried with him the pain of everyone who remained there. He told us about the spread of severe skin diseases among the prisoners, caused by long months without bathing, without changing clothes, in the absence of water and any means of hygiene or sterilization. He said the suffocating smells filled the cells, and their bodies ached from constant neglect. He told us about the extreme overcrowding in the cells, where dozens were crammed into a space too small for them, with no room to sit or sleep, taking turns lying down, spending long hours standing. No air, no sunlight, only closed walls and a suffocating confinement that crushed the spirit before the body. He spoke about interrogations… about the harsh, repeated torture, the beatings, humiliation, and psychological pressure, just because he was from Gaza. He told us about starvation, about meals that were not enough even for a child, and a constant feeling of dizziness and exhaustion. He told us about the biting cold, about long nights without blankets, shivering until morning, and wet clothes that never dried. About sickness… about unbearable pain, untreated wounds, and medicine denied to them, as if they were left to suffer in silence. But what was worse than all of this… was the psychological destruction. He told us they were deprived of sleep for days, the lights kept on day and night, and shouting in their faces continuously. Sometimes they were forced to sleep while their hands were bound, in painful positions, unable to move or rest. He said they were subjected to humiliating searches repeatedly, stripped of privacy and dignity. He told us about isolation, total disconnection from the world, no letters, no visits, no knowledge of their fate or their families… only emptiness, fear, and waiting. He told us about moments when some completely broke under the pressure, silent crying in the dark, losing hope, people who changed completely and were no longer the same. Some became mentally ill, some lost the ability to speak, and some lived in total silence. He told us things things the mind cannot comprehend, and the heart cannot bear. We listened, caught between shock and helplessness, as if hearing about another world but it was real. The condition of prisoners in the jails is tragically beyond description. All of this happens, is reported, and yet nothing changes.

Thread on the Salam government's attempts to obstruct Iran's cease-fire talks and prolong the war: The “Salam government” will soon become a term that not only designates this current illegitimate administration in Lebanon, but acquires the force of political condemnation and disgrace, emerging as a new descriptor for forms of political treason that exceed the historical analogies typically invoked. Comparisons to Vichy or to the government of Mahmoud Abbas are analytically inadequate, since both were the product of occupation and, in the case of the former, defeat. What makes the Salam government historically unique, and necessitates a new conception of collaboration, is how it is actively defying military victory and the liberation of its territory while also relentlessly obstructing a ceasefire that Iran was on the brink of securing for Lebanon, pursuing instead a prolongation of the war, further occupation, and potentially annexation of that territory. 1/7

We are not talking enough about the ordinary Iranian laborers who've been the unsong heros of this war You all saw the railway bridge getting rebuild in 3 days. It's not just the engineers who are worthy of our admirations. Workers From street sweepers, to waste haulers, to municipal workers who were tasked with removing debris and cleaning the city after the bombing, to glaziers and builders who went to help damaged houses. Road construction workers, electricity workers, fleet drivers, rail workers, and even gardeners! You may not believe it, but despite the bombings, spring can be felt in the streets. Especially Esfahan, which is known for its clean and flower-filled streets. Everywhere you go in the city, it is filled with freshly planted spring flowers, just like every other year.

There are Lebanese politicians posting photos of destruction across Beirut on Wednesday and blaming Hezbollah. It’s baffling. I don’t care how much you hate Hezbollah. Israel dropped American supplied bombs on us. Israel destroyed those buildings. Israel killed our friends and families. Israel committed a terrorist operation against Beirut, against Lebanon. Any official with an ounce of integrity would condemn the perpetrators instead of trying to join them. Shameful disgraceful people.

The US-Saudi-imposed Lebanese President and Prime Minister saw Zionists commit a genocide in Gaza and launching a genocidal campaign against Lebanon and thought: obviously a true peace partner. The most ironic part? The prime minister, Nawaf Salam, was an ICJ judge who voted in favor of the court taking on the genocide case against Zionists deeming it “plausible.” He was later elected as ICJ chief before resigning early 2025 to become the Lebanese Prime Minister forced by Saudis and the US. The President is the former Lebanese army chief. He was the chief all throughout the genocide, and later the war on Lebanon, including the terrorist pagers attack, until 2025 where he became president. Best part? After Iran announced that one of its conditions is a ceasefire in Lebanon, they both rejected, saying that a ceasefire in Lebanon is a different path. Of course, this serves nothing but to push for normalization, green light the Zionist massacres and occupation, and an attempt to force Hezbollah - they key and most competent defender of Lebanon - into surrender. In that context, normalization here is offered not to protect Lebanon, but protect Zionists, and its US backers, from a Lebanon that is capable of protecting itself. Both these figures have firsthand experience of how genocidal Zionists are, including against their own Lebanese citizens. Their actions constitute complete treason, and they should be tried as such.

I grew up watching footage of our kin in Palestine being killed at the hands of “Israel.” I grew up listening to Sayed Hassan Nasrallah speak of a day when this immeasurable pain, this weight of oppression, would finally come to an end. I believed him then, I still believe him now, & I will believe him until my last breath. No matter how far the world reaches for new ways to misread & dilute the meaning of our struggle, the truth will never change: this war, this injustice, this violence inflicted upon us in South Lebanon, all stem from our refusal to normalise the erasure of Palestine, from our refusal to accept that our own kin, only metres away, can be killed, violated, oppressed while life elsewhere continues as though nothing is happening. I will refuse indifference for as long as I live, & upon my death, that refusal will outlast me & be carried in those who carry my blood.

💢CONFIRMED: Strike on Saudi Arabia’s East–West Pipeline has knocked out ~700,000 barrels per day – about 10% of its 7 million bpd maximum capacity – hitting the kingdom’s only bypass to the Strait of Hormuz. ▫️ Separately, attacks on upstream fields have cut about 600,000 bpd in production — roughly 7.5% of Saudi Arabia’s prewar output (~8 million bpd) and likely to fall primarily on exports, which were running at about 4.2–4.6 million bpd in early April. 🛢️Full Breakdown: According to the Saudi Press Agency - the kingdom’s official state news outlet - recent attacks have caused widespread damage across the energy sector: 🔸 Pumping station on the East–West Pipeline hit, cutting ~700,000 bpd in throughput ▪️The Petroline had been ramped up to full capacity in mid-March to sustain exports during the Hormuz disruption, far above its typical peacetime flow of 1.2–2 million bpd. 🔸 Upstream production hit: ▪️ Manifa field (major offshore heavy crude source) − ~300,000 bpd ▪️ Khurais field (one of Saudi Arabia’s largest onshore fields) − ~300,000 bpd 🔸 Major refineries hit, operations disrupted: ▪️ SATORP (Jubail) – ~400,000 bpd, one of the world’s largest export refineries ▪️ Ras Tanura – ~550,000 bpd + Saudi Arabia’s main export terminal ▪️ SAMREF (Yanbu) – ~400,000 bpd, key Red Sea export hub ▪️ Riyadh refinery – ~120,000 bpd, central domestic supply 🔸 Gas infrastructure hit: ▪️ Ju’aymah processing and export hub – hit by fires, disrupting LPG and NGL flows from one of the world’s largest facilities — with ~1.1 million bpd NGL processing capacity and LPG exports averaging ~450,000 tons per month, a key supply source for Asian markets 🔸 One worker was killed, seven injured in recent attacks (likely yesterday though unclear) Saudi officials warned the attacks are tightening global supply, draining inventories, and increasing volatility in oil markets.

💢🇸🇦 A drone struck a pumping station along Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline Wednesday at approximately 1 PM local time, according to the Financial Times and Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter. Damage is still being assessed. Saudi Aramco has thus far declined to comment. The 1,200-kilometer East-West pipeline carries crude oil from the Gulf across the Arabian Peninsula to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz entirely. Since the effective closure of Hormuz, it has become Saudi Arabia’s primary oil export artery — reaching its full capacity of 7 million barrels per day by late March, according to Bloomberg and Fortune, citing people familiar with the matter. The strike came hours after Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry separately confirmed it intercepted and shot down nine drones Wednesday.

🚨🔖 Message from Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on the 40th day since the killing of Ali Khamenei: 🔹“We do not believe in separating the battlefield from diplomacy at all. We have only one field, and that is the field of defending the rights of the Iranian people. 🔹These rights are either realized through military struggle or through diplomatic struggle. Using both military and diplomatic tools, we can compel them to grant Iran its rights. 🔹The historic retreat of the United States and its acceptance of the general framework of Iran’s 10-point plan, although an undeniable victory, is still, in our view, an incomplete step. Past experiences have shown us that we must have absolute distrust toward the enemy. 🔹We refused to negotiate with the United States under Trump’s ultimatum. The acceptance of Iran’s 10-point plan did not come through negotiations, but rather through an exchange of texts. From now on, if the United States stops violating its commitments, negotiations may become possible.” 🔸He earlier said Lebanon and the broader ‘Resistance Axis’ are an inseparable part of the ceasefire under Iran’s proposal, that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif explicitly affirmed this with no room for U.S.-Israeli “backtracking and denial,” and that any violations would carry “explicit costs” and trigger “STRONG responses,” calling for the U.S. to immediately extinguish the fire it is igniting by not reigning in Israel’s attacks in Lebanon.

They said we won't go Now they say we will go but not participate if !srael blah blah Even if !srael stop attacking Lebanon for a couple of hours, right after you signed anything, they will resume it, why so optimistic? And those who are disowning Iran once again, stop flop flipping so much This is the same Iran you were worshipping last week Iranians gave 3000 martyrs, Iran will not walk over the blood of martyrs whether Iranian, Lebanese, Iraqis, Yemenis,.. I know it's been a very difficult 48 hours, but we don't know all the facts I've been vocal about my anger and frustration upon hearing the ceasefire news but my position is voicing our demands as people of the resistance not to undermine all the efforts and sacrifices of Iranian decision makers. Be patient with each other and pray
