A sister in my DM crying. Rees:after 5 years of marriage, my husband lost his job. I’ve been the one paying rent and feeding the family for 8 months now. He stays home all day playing games and gets angry when I ask him to help with house chores. He says it’s women’s work. Men, your provision role doesn’t end because of setback. Get up and hustle Women, support your man in tough times but don’t become his mother. This dynamic destroys respect. What would you do in this situation

My friend’s husband stopped touching her for almost a year. At first, she thought he was stressed. Then she started blaming herself. She changed her hair, Started dressing sexier at home, Began starving herself to lose weight. Nothing changed But online? You’d think they were the happiest couple alive. Soft videos. Matching pajamas. “Can’t do life without you ❤️” Meanwhile, this woman used to sit in the bathroom after midnight and cry because the same man who ignored her in bed would smile at random women on Instagram all night. One day she told me “There’s a special kind of pain that comes from feeling unwanted by the person who promised to love you forever.” That sentence has refused to leave my head since then. Is this still love? Or are some people just too comfortable to leave relationships they emotionally abandoned a long time ago?

@Queen_primis 😂😂 3 months of “morning walk” just to go and buy peace of mind at gas station. Some men don’t need gym membership… they need privacy subscription. The real question is: what was he buying there every day that home couldn’t provide? 👀

I still cannot stop thinking about Amaka… Maybe because the pain in that girl’s eyes was too deep for someone her age. Amaka was only 10 when life already started damaging her slowly. First, it was their gateman. Then later… her own senior brother. Nobody knew what she was carrying inside her. She grew up acting normal, but deep down, that girl was fighting battles nobody could see. At 16, she was supposed to enter school. But she failed her WAEC. Her mother insulted her everyday because of it. So she started working as a sales girl in one small provision shop around their area just to save money and rewrite her exams at 17. That was where she met Peter. Peter was 30. At first, he looked harmless. He used to come to the shop almost every evening to buy random things. Indomie. Malt. Toothpaste. Sometimes I felt he didn’t even need those things. He just wanted to see Amaka. The scary part was how nice he was. Too nice. Always smiling. Always asking if she had eaten. Always talking to her like an older brother. And because Amaka never really experienced genuine care before… She trusted him easily. One evening, after buying something again, he stood there staring at her longer than usual. Then he asked for her number. She gave it to him freely. From that day, they started talking every single night. But after some weeks… Amaka noticed something. The way Peter looked at her started changing. It was no longer the soft “big brother” kind of look. There was something darker inside his eyes. Something that made her uncomfortable… But she ignored it. And honestly… That was the beginning of her biggest mistake. TO BE CONTINUED… MAKE SURE YOU TUNE IN FOR PART 2 😭 What do you think about Peter?

“I think she just likes you more.” Meanwhile you’re at work thinking it’s a medical emergency and it’s actually a man experiencing the first level of what we call: equal parenting is humbling 😭 Babies don’t “prefer” anyone… they just expose who usually gets to clock out first.

I used to think loneliness meant having nobody. Then I fell asleep beside someone who stopped seeing me. My boyfriend could spend hours laughing on his phone, replying people instantly… but anytime I tried to talk, it felt like I was interrupting his real life. That kind of pain is dangerous because there’s no evidence. No cheating. No insults. No violence. Just waking up every day feeling emotionally unwanted by the one person who swore they loved you. And honestly? Nothing makes you feel crazier than begging for attention from someone who still calls you “baby.”

Meanwhile, my mother started smiling more. It’s scary when the person you abandoned finally realizes life became lighter without you in it. Some men leave thinking a woman will break. Not knowing she was only surviving because she had no choice.

My dad left my mom after 32 years because he wanted to “finally be happy.” The woman he left her for was 27. My mother didn’t scream. Didn’t beg. Didn’t even argue. She just quietly said, “Okay.” For the next year she learned how to use online banking, started traveling with friends, renovated the kitchen he never let her touch, and took dance classes. Meanwhile....

One thing heartbreak will teach you is… some people can kiss you, sleep beside you, call you “baby” every day… and still be emotionally gone.
