@GlenWilsonIA @RaminNasibov Money is meaningless - it'll just take a lot of solar panels or cold fusion being solved. Once there's practically enough energy it'll be just a handful of years.

Why does everyone believe is AI is a magical unicorn that costs 0 dollars can magically do work without a physical body? It'll cost hundreds of trillions of dollars to replace humans with robots and the infrastructure needed to physically do all the job. AI taking all the jobs is really a delusion or irrational fear. Not to mention there is not enough compute capacity in existence to replace all human work with just processing, let alone the hundreds of billions in non-existence robotics.

In a post-singularity world, I see three groups of people in the economy. Group 1: the best of the best (artists, creators, performers, chefs - anything where human talent, mastery, and skillfulness excel). Group 2: humans who create value for AI (robotics maintainers, useful data generators). Group 3: humans relying on government support (either as UBI, UHI, or whatever it would be). Any other groups I missed?

@Razta099 The only thing valuable is energy. AI companies only need energy - but what motivates the company to grow and build stuff? Shareholders don't care about valueless money either. Maybe everyone goes spiritual or explores the universe or plays God for a primitive civilisation

If robots make everything, why would we need UBI? Why would we need to pay for anything? Who would we be paying? No one asks these questions, they just say the same old UBI talking points.

Let’s assume Sindarov beats Gukesh. Carlsen vs Sindarov match would epic. I hope Magnus can teach the youngster a thing or two about Capablanca and Botvinnik.

Why do w let so many people into Australia when all we need to do is help our own first? Incentivise people to have children. What is happening now is stopping people having families. I know so many women who said they aren’t having children because of the cost. #ausbiz #auspol

A big generalisation from the RBA Governor on the current Australian outlook. “Inflation is going to be higher, activity is going to be low, we’re going to be poorer. There’s not much upside news in that story” Nope. The rich have been preparing. This is another wealth creating opportunity. The poor will get poorer but the rich? Richer than ever before! #ausbiz #auspol

Negative gearing, or "not getting taxed on investment losses" actually a subsidy for renters. Investors are still losing, risking it all for long term capital growth. Which will soon be taxed at the highest rate in the world. So we add tax to renting out houses at a time when housing affordability is at its worst, rental availability at its lowest, and social housing practically non-existent. What could go wrong.

You can tax landlords all you like… But you can’t stop the market responding. In a housing shortage, those costs flow straight through to renters. Less incentive to invest → fewer rentals Fewer rentals → higher rents Government intervention doesn’t fix the shortage. It makes it much worse. It’s the incentive structures that need repair in Australia.

Why not? Get your head around the fact, NEGATIVE GEARING and investors and Howard-era policy changes, have impacted housing

I have been living with a Tamil girl for the past two months. She rented a floor in my house, and we’ve developed a close bond. She can’t speak or understand Hindi, which is perfectly fine. One day, we were having a conversation, and she said she doesn’t like the attitude of Tamil Nadu politicians toward Hindi. I responded that I feel if South Indians don’t want to learn Hindi, it shouldn’t be forced on them. She then said that they don’t even allow those who willingly want to learn Hindi. To be honest, I find it hard to accept that there are people in Tamil Nadu who actually want to learn Hindi. Isn’t it hard to believe?

@Dixit__Nikhil Can understand why you are saying that as one to one matches are very different from Candidates matches. But again form matters. Sindarov is in great form, Gukesh isn't. So, the match format doesn't help. Would give Gukesh less than 50% chance of winning as of now. Javo has edge.

When looking at real estate in Australia there are different markets. Perth property is unlikely to fall significantly… Why? Strong population growth, tight housing supply, relatively affordable prices vs other capitals, solid employment in WA and rising rents. But… The war in the Middle East could slow down the Perth market. The next few months will be interesting. #ausbiz #auspol

@big_shaneoh @Addi56640 @bowtiedstocks @BoomTimeCC Immigration acts an export - if there's a recession fears the government will boost all exports and print more currency. This will devalue the dollar against real estate, gold etc. Hopefully it won't be like NZ - everyone is leaving and in recession.

Average first home buyer age in Australia today is around 36-37 For a lot of them, they would also be tied down with kids, the costs that comes with that and school fees etc If they are getting into the market with a 10-20% deposit If prices fall 30% or more from the current highly inflated levels Can they realistically recover from this? Or will they be negative equity debt slaves for a large portion of their remaining working life ?? It strikes me as a fairly grim setup

It’s blowing my mind right now how many people are in my replies, calling me stupid, claiming I don’t know how body fat percentages work in relation to visual physique improvements. If you have more muscle mass, you will look leaner/more defined than someone with less muscle mass, at the same body fat %. Here’s an example using myself. Which picture am I leaner in? The right? Abs are more visible. Cuts are deeper. I’m way more vascular. But I’m considerably leaner on the left. I had DEXAS done for both. (No scales no biopods, DEXA or nothing else) On the left I clocked in at 7.3%. On the right I clocked in at 12.1%. But on the right I have 15-20 more pounds of muscle, so it gives me the illusion that I’m leaner. The original football player has a SHIT TON of muscle mass. WAY more than I do. And he’s not even close to as lean as I am. He’s way over 12%. I maintain my estimate that he’s over 15%.

@MarkoMatvikov @Bulldogs5711 It's not easily solvable the moment we ease the red tapes around green belts/zoning etc. Prices are going to crash by 30-40% I think. That'll just collapse the economy. We need to slowly devalue the currency against labour (increase wages) but stable against the real estate.

If Aussies are wondering how this contrast is possible, Texas has: Decentralised population density centres Much (much much) lower planning regulatory barriers Cheaper and quicker building materials and methods A large and competitive labour force No upfront taxes for buyers - but a broader higher land tax Reimbursement of infrastructure costs to developers so they aren’t passed on to buyers - and they do this with zero state income tax (unlike most US states)
