I prefer my mom enjoy the same things we get or that none of us do. It’s that simple. She’s my mother and I want her to have the same or better than me in the context of our family and her relationship with my father. At the very least, I’d want my dad to sacrifice for her.

Do other moms pass up getting things for yourself because you see how expensive it is? Hub wanted subs for dinner tonight so I get them for kids and him and just 3 little ones is already $18.. his is $10.. plus tax. I say no thanks, I’ll eat leftovers. So I don’t get a sub sandwich because I don’t think I should be wasting money like that. (Even though it’s my husband’s money) 🫤 which then makes me feel left out but really it’s my own choice, but I feel like we really shouldn’t be paying to eat out at all so I’m the one sacrificing and being financially responsible. Am I alone in this? What would you do?
