@IowaRudeGuy2 @NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @jfrunner Glad you could give her comfort. That’s hard losing a child.

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @jfrunner Good afternoon Friends.
Been busy with a viewing and funeral for our next-door neighbor. He was only 50, gay, lived with his mother, and passed in his sleep. She needs help & comforting.
Have a blessed day everyone. 🙏

Good Morning Friends... @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner We had been waiting all week for "Big Mike" to show up for "breakfast" on the back porch... After 25 years of cats passing through the neighborhood, we are use to the coming and going. Mike has had a habit "taking a day or 2 off"... He looks good, he is "fixed" as far as we can see and not Beat Up like the "boys" who come though "fighting for girlfriends". Jim figures he MAY have a home around here somewhere...but just wants MORE food. Well, we hadn't seen him for a week...(and I didn't want to think the worst) Jim asked a neighbor and they hadn't seen him...so I was hoping he had found a home... Last night...there he was! I guess he wanted a late-night dinner! AND here he was again this morning for another course. And YES...we have tried several times to invite him in... (We have a "shelter" out there...Jim says it may be Mike using it... 🤷♀️🤷♂️ 🐈⬛)
English

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Good morning! Glad Mike showed up. I do wish we could get some consistent warmth.
English

Good Morning Friends... @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Another chilly start...but our Irises are blooming! And Jim's green thumb gets a 🏆

English

@IowaRudeGuy2 @NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @jfrunner Glad you are getting rain. I know the farmers are happy.
English

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @jfrunner Good morning Friends.
Happy May Day too. I remember May baskets when I was a kid, but my grandson knew nothing about the tradition so they must not do them anymore.
We haven't seen the sun over here for days, but mild temps & very little rain.
Have a great day everybody!
English

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Good morning!🌞 We had a nice steady rain yesterday for several hours! Thank goodness!
English

Good Morning Friends...@ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner We have had an umbrella morning...or as my youngest sister once called if Under Brella...☂️ Looking forward to breakfast w/Jim's HS friends today. The place we are going to has very good pancakes... 🥞
English

@IowaRudeGuy2 @NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @jfrunner You possibly can get it at a hardware or grocery store if they carry old products. Fels naphtha soap was used with borax for clothing wash soap in our parents generation. You can also get a 3 pack from Amazon.
English

@agintomboy @NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @jfrunner Thanks Anita! Is that something you get at a pharmacy?
English

Good Morning Friends... @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Lots of early morning activity in the yard. Mike showed up for breakfast and unsettled Mr. & Mrs. Mallard ... Lots of feathers leaving the flight path...
English

@IowaRudeGuy2 @NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @jfrunner You need to get gels naphtha soap and use that to wash off with after being in the garden. It neutralizes poison ivy resin that triggers the allergic response.
English

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Good morning! Yay! We are getting a decent amount of rain today! Thanks for the music, love Cats, the musical and real felines.
English

Good Morning Friends... @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner I JUST LOVED watching our President & First Lady welcoming the King & Queen to DC! Yeah! I'm a POMP person...and I just LOVED watching our military "pass in review"! Yeah, I'm stuck on the USMC!...they were so squared away, I believe they were even BREATHING in unison! And listening to the musical entertainment for the dinner included a song from CATS...our Little Black is still smug about that!

Thanks!! TOO many reasons to NOT sing the "BLUES" when you can laugh. I've made sure my ornaments have little notes in them for my Heirs (nieces and nephews) to HOPEFULLY make them want to keep them when I pass. Jim says our basement looks like the last scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark...

I "collect" Christmas Ornaments...(From Vacations...stories that I like...and "events") And a short while back, I found a "Bernie" ornament in his iconic "Biden Inauguration Pose" to HANG on my tree. Then I saw another one of Fauci...and ordered it as well. I have a "tradition" w/ my tree... I have a Star on the top with "Angel ornaments"... and on the lowest branch I place the face of a "Devil". I think Bernie & Anthony will keep him company HUNG down there... ( @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner )

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Good morning! I’m still waiting for spring to show up 24/7. Lately it waits till 2 pm to show up.
English

@NJDevil1950 @ohululu @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner Whose arm is this? Did this happen after being outdoors?
English

Good Morning Friends... @ohululu @agintomboy @liszewsk @IowaRudeGuy2 @jfrunner BLUE Skies this morning! Looks like a lovely day...the gardens look lovely and Jim found a trellis he liked that doesn't look like a Medieval torture rack ...so he is continuing his design. 🙄

As we continue our Outlander final season-mini-Droughtlander walk down memory lane we arrive at season two.
What an opening to this first episode!
Talk about confusing.
How many people wondered if they were watching the right episode the first time they watched it?
Like, um, we left Jamie and Claire on a ship.
She had just told him that she was pregnant and he was happy.
Happy.
He.
Was.
Happy.
After everything that he had been through at the hands of Black Jack Randall our Jamie had survived and he was finally feeling an emotion other than anger, sadness, and/or disgust.
They were on a ship back to France.
They were.
I remember it vividly.
Murtagh was there, too.
Pretending that he wasn't listening to every word that they said to each other.
Probably silently lamenting that he was not going to change any of the baby's diapers nor babysit.
And, yet, here we are.
Claire in back in this time, absolutely devastated, and Frank is there???
What is going on???
Speaking of Frank.
The second Claire is home he is burning her clothes.
Her period perfect clothes.
Frank, the historian, was burning actual history.
Sure.
That makes sense.
Meanwhile in a few seasons we find out that Jamie kept all of Claire's clothes because he couldn't bear to part with them.
For like 20 odd years.
Jamie kept her clothes and Frank burned them.
I will just leave that little bit of information right there.
Ok.
Where was I?
Oh.
Yes.
What the hell was going on?
Claire is back in Frank's time.
I refuse to call it her time because let's be honest her time is wherever Jamie is.
She is pregnant.
Frank offers to raise the child as his own if Claire can forget about what happened with Jamie and move on.
Sure.
No worries.
Best of luck with that, Claire.
We've seen Jamie and his knees.
You aren't forgetting about him anytime soon.
Just when you think that we are stuck with boring old Frank the series drops what has to be the most incredible scene transition of all time.
You know the one I am talking about.
We all know the one I am talking about.
It was as if I stepped outside on a cloudy day and suddenly the sun came out.
In the form of Jamie.
There he was.
Holding his hand out to her as she stepped off the ship.
See, I told you there was a ship!
Suddenly the world was right again.
Claire was back with Jamie.
But.
Why was she back with Frank to begin with?
What was going to happen to these Jamie and Claire???
So.
We watched.
We found out exactly what happened to them.
And, we cried.
A lot.
We had Jamie and Claire in France scheming to alter the course of history at Culloden.
They team up with Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Jacobites, and others.
Charlie says Mark Me, a lot.
So much so that a million drinking games were created on the back of it.
Spoiler alert: they failed.
Culloden still happened and it was devastating for all.
We had Claire pissing people off.
Spoiler alert: that happens a lot.
Claire met Master Raymond.
Spoiler alert: he steals babies.
Not in the books.
Diana wouldn't write something like that.
Matt Roberts?
Yes.
Diana.
No!
We learn that Black Jack Randall is still alive.
Boo.
Hiss.
Boooooo!!
Spoiler alert: he isn't alive by the end of this season.
Yay!
Woohoo!
Jamie meets Fergus, a young pickpocket, and soon takes him under his care.
Spoiler alert: We love Fergus.
Spoiler alert on the spoiler alert: Matt Roberts kills him off in season eight.
It is terrible.
Really, really terrible.
Jamie finds out that Black Jack Randall is still alive and is absolutely giddy at the prospect of killing him.
Claire begs Jamie to wait for a year as she believes that if Jamie kills him he will change the course of Frank's family history.
Jamie is pretty angry.
Understandably so.
But, he agrees if she too agrees to return to Frank's time, through the stones, if he ever asks her to do so.
She agrees thinking it is moot as she will never have to do that.
Unfortunately, Black Jack lives up to his name, violating young Fergus, and Jamie can no longer keep his promise to Claire.
He has a dual with Black Jack, doesn't kill him but he does render him infertile via a blow to the balls.
Good.
He really shouldn't procreate.
Unfortunately, Claire travels to the duel to try and stop it and suffers a pre-term delivery.
Their child, Faith, is stillborn.
Claire's grief is heartbreaking.
Jamie, who was arrested for dueling misses this tragedy and Claire's recovery.
Upon his release he is haunted by guilt and grief.
Side note: Claire slept with the King of France to secure Jamie's release.
Talk about just lie there and think of England, well, in this case, Scotland.
She steals an orange on the way out.
Sassy Claire is still there.
Buried by grief.
Yes.
But, still there.
Just below the surface.
They decide that France is really the place for them and Claire asks Jamie to take her home to Lallybroch.
Which he does, but not before they visit Faith's grave in one of the most poignant moments in the whole series.
We head back to Scotland where Jamie starts to rally for the Jacobite cause.
We see a young British soldier try to kill Jamie whilst defending Claire's honour as he believes that she is being held by the highlanders against her will.
He fails miserably, but his life is spared by Jamie.
Spoiler alert: this is actually a young Lord John.
The irony is not lost on me that Lord John will spend the majority of his life defending and/or saving members of the Fraser family.
Sleeping with one of them, yes, I am looking at you Claire, and also raising Jamie's son.
We see the battle of Prestonpans and whilst Jamie and his men are victorious, we lose our beloved Angus.
We are all distraught, no more so than Rupert.
Claire wanders off, sort of, ends up a captive of the Duke of Sandringham, and Murtagh and Jamie rescue her and Mary Hawkins.
Not before she sends Jamie and Murtagh a letter in Gaelic and it is one of the funniest scenes when Murtagh is trying to decipher exactly what the letter says.
Murtagh chops off the Duke of Sandringham's head in retaliation for some horrible things he arranged and gifts it to Mary and Claire as a belated Christmas gift.
Not really.
But, he does offer the head as a sign of revenge enacted in their name.
Personally, I like flowers.
Chocolate, too.
Claire conducts a bit of euthanasia for Colum and on his deathbed he entrusts the clan to Jamie.
(It was never going to be Dougal, and, anyways, Jamie kills him in the next episode, so he's not available for the gig)
Colum also lets us know that Geillis was pregnant with Dougal's child and gave birth before being burned at the stake.
Remember this baby.
They are important later.
In the last episode we do a bit of back and forth between the preparation for Culloden and Claire's life in the future.
We learn that Claire and Brianna (Jamie and Claire's daughter that was raised by Frank and who has no idea that Frank is not her actual father) have traveled to Scotland to pay their respects to the Reverend's family upon his death.
Remember the Reverend that Frank was hanging out with in season one talking all things history?
Yea, him.
He died.
We meet Roger.
He's descended from the baby I mentioned before.
He seems nice.
He and Bree would make a cute couple.
I wonder if they will get together.
Spoiler alert: they do.
Anyway, Roger likes history, too.
Claire is surrounded by memories everywhere she goes and eventually visits Culloden Moor, the battlefield where we now know so many lost their lives.
Where Claire believes that Jamie lost his life.
We see Claire's wedding gift, the dragon fly in amber gifted to her, in the Culloden museum.
Claire goes exploring, stumbling across all of these signs that she was in the past.
Her signature on the deed to Lallybroch and other documents.
Given where they are, the emotions running high, and Claire struggling to keep it all together, it all comes out about Jamie, Claire time travelling, the fact that Frank was not her father.
Bree does not manage this well.
Understandable, right?
Time to pack mum off to the sanitarium.
But.
Remember how I said that Roger likes history?
Well, he finds proof of Claire and of Jamie in the past.
They also find Geillis in their time trying to rally the modern day Jacobite cause, and they realise that she is about to do some cray cray stuff.
Suddenly, it all seems very real to Bree and to Roger.
Could Claire be telling the truth???
Meanwhile, it is all coming to a head in Jamie's time.
Culloden is looming.
Jamie and Claire feel that Culloden is a fight they cannot win so they hatch a plan to poison Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Mark me!!
(Quick, have a drink!)
Dougal overhears and he and Jamie fight.
Jamie overcomes him and stabs him dead.
Claire offers a little bit of extra oomph.
Rupert walks in, says he is turning Jamie in for killing Dougal and Jamie is able to negotiate time to see Claire safe.
Jamie orders Duncan to ensure that their fellow clansmen are home safe, away from an unwinnable battle.
Duncan agrees only to promise to return and fight by Jamie's side.
Proving you should never leave home, or go into a battle, without a Murtagh.
Jamie decides that now is the time for Claire to return to Frank.
Remember that deal he made before when he agreed to not kill Black Jack then and there?
Well, he is now calling in the IOU.
Claire refuses.
Because.
Well.
It is Claire and she is stubborn.
It is also a little ironic given just how much she likes to wander off and the one time he wants her to actually wander off and not stay put and she decides that she wants to actually stay put!
In this moment Jamie proves that he truly is the King of Men and of Menses.
Jamie tells her that he knows she is pregnant.
That he has been tracking her courses, yes, tracking her courses in the middle of a war, and that he needs to know that her and their child will live their lives.
That this child is all that will left of him and that he needs to know that she and the bairn will be safe, far away from Culloden and from this time.
These scenes are beautiful in their heartbreak.
We once again see the man that Jamie is.
We see that he is a man who will do anything and everything for those that he loves.
Especially for Claire.
And, especially for their unborn child.
They had already lost Faith and Jamie was determined to see this child safe.
Jamie takes Claire to the stones and we have one of the most beautiful scenes in the whole series as Jamie and Claire say their goodbyes.
They both believe that Jamie's destiny, and death, was waiting for him on Culloden Moor.
"I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest." Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well."
And with their hearts breaking, ours too, they dance to the stones, softly saying their final I love you.
Claire begs Jamie to come with her.
To try.
But Jamie knows that he can not.
And, that even if he could, his time and place was here and now, on Culloden Moor.
Then, in a moment, Claire is gone, through the stones, from Jamie to Frank.
Forever.
Spoiler alert: it wasn't forever.
Spoiler spoiler alert: Jamie didn't actually die at Culloden.
We suddenly transition back to Claire, Bree, and Roger who are on their way to the stones to stop crazy Geillis.
They arrive as they see her disappear and it is at this moment that Bree and Roger truly believe everything that Clare has told them about Jamie and her past.
In this moment Roger tells Claire that he found Jamie in the past.
That Jamie didn't die at Culloden.
That he did in fact live.
This season ends with Claire declaring that she has to go back.
Back to Jamie.
And, might I just say, we all get it, Claire.
Most of us would have gone back to him, too.
