@jonmoxIeys We are all mourning the passing of John Sterling in our own way
English

@JJFromTheBronx TV sound down and radio up/mlb tv lets you do radio sound with tv. Very common practice with Yankee fans who loved John Sterling.

@MatthewLeeRosen Public service announcement: your problem is with the graphic, not the strike zone.
English

In this instance, less than 0.5% of the ball has actually touched zone. It does't seem justifiable to reverse the umpire's call. The ABS system calculates inches & surface data. I think the rules should be adjusted, so that 25% of the ball must be in the zone for a strike.
Matthew Lee Rosen@MatthewLeeRosen
Why is this a strike?

@YankeeLibrarian His defense has been shaky at times but also brilliant at times. The platoon with Rosario is working. Hopefully he finds himself at the plate a little bit.

Ryan McMahon has a 52 wRC+ on the year and an OPS that's about to dip below .500.
He also has -3 defensive runs saved and a 0 OAA at third.
They didn't lose today solely because of McMahon; it was mostly because Nathan Eovaldi did Nathan Eovaldi things against the Yankees. Still, on days when they can't score and are facing a tough starter, you really notice how much of an eyesore he is in that lineup.
McMahon still hasn't even hit 100 plate appearances on the year, but third base has a really good chance of being a hole for the 2838539th straight season.(Minus the 1.5 years Gio Urshela was good, of course.) It's sad because he has such an ability to crush a baseball, but with no ability to make contact.

@GreenfieldMax18 Honestly the way the Yankees have been walking makes me think they have locked in on some kind of incredible new hitting culture. Hope it continues.
English

@agoogaly Exactly. It doesn't take more than a quick glance to go "He'll be fine"

I think it's really silly, again, to have this take watching what happened in Texas. Guy was roping line drives all over the field that just found gloves. Grisham this year has a .257 BA on line drives and fly balls, league average BA is .439. Positive regression will come.
Chris@Chris_NYY28
Trent Grisham has settled back into what he is as a player: A .200 hitter who has some power. Not a guy you want leading off a team trying to win a championship.
English

@RyanGarciaESM It's so hard when he can't play defense. It makes no sense that he's that bad out there.

Ben Rice had no room on the roster in 2025 when Paul Goldschmidt was signed to be the everyday starter at 1B and Giancarlo Stanton was the everyday DH.
He took advantage of a Stanton injury and never looked back; can Jasson do the same?
Fireside Yankees@FiresideYankees
Jasson Dominguez has been promoted from Scranton (Triple-A), according to @francysromeroFR. He's hitting .326 with a .893 OPS in 92 at-bats so far this season.
English

@CodifyBaseball I think the logic was to let him do it and use the numbers as a way to ban him from doing it. It was always obvious he was going to be terrible at it.
English

@WillSloanEsq @BadPostsLLC I will see that and raise you the Grodin on Letterman compilations

@r_chidwic @BronMuse You are not understanding your own point. You criticized the Warriors for getting Durant. I am saying if anything LeBron is a worse offender for going to Miami. Doesn't matter when he did it, he only won after going to a super team.
English

@r_chidwic @BronMuse Your argument made LeBron look bad for joining a super team in Miami
English

@BronxBmbrz It was like how The Mets run their team. Except Judge propped the offense up for years.
English

@r_chidwic @BronMuse My argument is that LeBron has not had an impressive playoff run if we are calling him the greatest player of all time. I don’t see why adding Durant matters when LeBron went to Miami to win.
