@jess_kabigting @Yusuke_Toyama @ahcells showed us the challenges of how immune cells are able to digest and clear large adipocytes (~100um) often found in aged tissue. Multiple smaller macrophages need to infiltrate an ECM shell to reach the dead adipocytes! #MBIMPG2025

Big picture, we think that interfering with this mechanism to attenuate or even prevent cancer cell #migration in tight spaces holds translational potential. Another example of #confinement helping us gain a better understanding of cell biology in general!

2nd paper from Mechanobiologics Lab is out in Journal 'Small' @AdvPortfolio. This work led by my 1st PhD student Alka. Superb collaboration with @ahcells & Rudra Pratap @CeNSEatIISc. We discovered how confined spaces in tissue reduce tumor cell killing upon ultrasound treatment.
