Fatima Hassouna, a renowned Palestinian artist and photojournalist, has been killed by an Israeli air strike. She died with nine members of her family in a direct strike on their home in Gaza. Hassouna appears in Sepideh Farsi’s documentary ‘PUT YOUR SOUL ON YOUR HAND AND WALK,’ which is set to premiere at Cannes ACID this May. @auroralitex It’s such a common thing when it’ll say “open ethnicity” in casting and the only people getting the callbacks are white and a white person ends up getting cast. Just be an adult and say ur casting for a white actor and stop giving actors of colour false hope

Ive heard industry ppl say "open ethnicity" is code word for yt but most of the time it's yt ppl and some non Black that get cast :/

What’s just interesting to me is how the black girlies are auditioning, when they can but in the ‘all ethnicities’ category cuz casting and producers, ethically have to put that category in the breakdowns. But they aren’t being considered. Just wasting their time.

Doesn’t matter if the black female character has the most chemistry with the male lead. It doesn’t matter if their love story was planned from the beginning/canon. #They will always find some random white character to ship instead even if doesn’t make sense.

@auroralitex And why is it always a thing of how the black girl helps the guy with his confidence and heals him, they have all this chemistry and they’re obsessed with each other and then he leaves her for the white girl with no explanation.

@auroralitex I’m tired of how black actors are treated, whether it’s how they’re treated on set being disrespected or receiving pay gaps. Or how their characters are being written awfully, nobody can tell me I’m wrong because I couldn’t give a long list of black actors who’ve lived through it

@ahlamjamilaa YUP. Exactly. Its also heartbreaking to hear about the mistreatment that Angela got on set especially from Cory and Topanga IRL and everyone wants to just ignore it :/

@auroralitex U can tell the writers didn’t watch BMW, coz why was Cory being so cold to Angela as if he wasn’t the one who was rooting for her and Shawn and in season 6/7 was doing everything he could to get them back together. It was lazy. And for what?

@jasimisinclair They do this on purpose, when there’s a love interest that will be insignificant later on they choose to cast a black person so they can have the “diversity” card and then write them out at the end of the season/movie so they can end up with the white character.
