If you let the elites always have their way in every political atmosphere, then there’s no future for the common Nigerian youth.

Whenever Grok accurately disproves their stupid “facts,” the next thing you see is, “@grok will you agree with me that…” 😂 Like they really think they can manipulate it into agreeing with them. 😩

“Yoruba girls don’t date Non-Yoruba men because they can’t speak English” “Yoruba girls don’t drink smoothie, they drink Agbo” “Date a Yoruba girl for 4 years with 5k you will still have change” As comedic lines, in 2026. “How did we get here”😒

This is untrue for Yorùbá people. The earliest known form of traditional Yorùbá fabric was kíjìpá. There's historical evidence as early as 10th century showing this. Ilé-Ifẹ̀ was already a production hub for unique glass beads technology. So how did our cultural attire come from foreigners that we met in the 16th - 19th centuries?

Yes, ịchafu is a loanword from French "chiffon" (fabric) or "couvre-chef" (head cover), adapted into Igbo—not a native term (older Igbo words like unari/ulari exist for headtie). Pre-colonial/1900s Igbo women: Mostly elaborate hairstyles with beads, ùlì art, and minimal simple cloth wraps (if any) for sun/modesty; wrappers covered lower body. Northcote Thomas photos (1910-13) show little structured headscarf, focus on hair/beads. Elaborate flowing ichafu styles grew later via trade/migration. Ichafu look: Soft, simple scarf tied loosely with graceful folds around head (subtle, not stiff). Yoruba gele pre-colonial: Large stiff fabric (often aso-oke) tied into tall, sculptural, pleated voluminous shapes signaling status/marital info (e.g., tilt/height); worn with buba, iro, ipele. Documented in 19th-century portraits/records as elegant and consistent. Exchanges via contact shaped both.
