@SherriKEdman to stop. Yes, anger at the loved one who committed suicide is absolutely legitimate. But pastorally, this statement doesn’t help anyone, including those feeling anger in their grief.

@SherriKEdman I think the pastor’s comment is very insensitively worded; I would be angry to hear it, too. Suicide *is* a selfish act, but also much more complicated than that statement makes it sound. Many who do it are not clearly thinking of anything/one except that they want the pain

Several years ago an Internet acquaintance shot herself in the family garden shed. Would her (at the time) 14yo daughter and 12yo son be grieving illegitimately if they felt angry that she abandoned them? If not, why not?

He missed the part where the GOP said to go to trade school. Or the part where making $7.25/hr is an entry level wage that represents less than 2% of jobs. Or the part where there's community college offered for free. Or the part where there are apprenticeships, military, etc

Do the refuse to serve non-Christians (which would surely be illegal) who don't believe in the Incarnation or Resurrection? Could a Catholic refuse to serve a Protestant? The response is usually, "Well, this is about objecting to their offensive practices, not their beliefs..."
