Wohoo amazing news to see VeuPathDB and rest of DBs back online and this quick! Such an important tool for so many scientist which was recently lost, but thanks to new donors, the great parasitology/vector biology community, and staff has been saved💪🏼💪🏼🥳🥳

@Jsilva228 @mcsinton @merckgroup Not this one, will count anything that looks like a cell. Don’t think any cell counter i’ve seen could do that even if they have a “cell size” option. I would use Fiji for that

Mindblown 🤯🤯🤯 by the new MilliCell automated cell counter I just got for the lab @merckgroup. Should have bought this years ago! Super accurate count in haemocytometer and confluency estimate in directly in flask. 1000% recommended!!

@FedMRojas @DeNovix @royalsociety @Tiengwe_Lab seems that this one may be better overall and easier to tailor for tryps in suspension. I went for the other one because we work a lot with attached cells and monitoring confluency/counting directly in flask and plate is a game-changer to us.

Counted T. congolense BSF attached to a Petri dish accurately. Will post about brucei BSF and PCR hopefully soon

@albuquerqueafrr These were T.congo BSF which naturally attach to the base. Still need to try with brucei, don’t have any in culture right now…

@AEstadea @merckgroup Jmm maybe? it is good at adjusting size of objects and masking, the problem I see is that the 10X objective is fixed and you could only fit a few dozen eggs in a field of view to count (see scale bar is 200um in the image you see)
