🇬🇧Broad-nosed weevil, Polydrusus formosus. Close-up of the compound eye with scales. The deep black and the bright scales really pushed the dynamic range of the camera sensor to its limits. Did you know that the human eye has a dynamic range of up to 14 stops? Our smartphone cameras can compensate for this when capturing scenes like sunsets using the HDR function, but they can’t achieve it with a single shot. However, we can enjoy the view without the sky blowing out or the dark areas disappearing into nothingness. 🇩🇪Seidiger Glanzrüssler, Polydrusus formosus.
