Quando il momento di punta finì, rifiutò il pasto gratuito offertogli da Giovanni e lasciò invece una mancia di cento dollari con un biglietto: “Per Maria — stai andando benissimo, e diventa più facile, te lo prometto.” Maria, che in seguito divenne direttrice di ristorante, tenne quel biglietto incorniciato in ogni locale in cui lavorò per venticinque anni. Nel 2004 disse a un giornalista: “Quella sera il signor Kennedy mi ha insegnato che la vera classe non riguarda dove ti siedi, ma accanto a chi scegli di stare quando le cose si fanno difficili.” Giovanni ricordava soprattutto una frase di John, detta mentre usciva: “Mia madre mi ha sempre detto che il modo in cui tratti le persone quando nessuno di importante ti sta guardando dice tutto su chi sei davvero.” Un promemoria che il vero carattere emerge nei piccoli gesti invisibili, quando scegliamo il servizio invece dello status.

Arab countries on Friday condemned Israel’s recognition of the breakaway Somaliland region, rejecting the move as a violation of international law and reaffirming support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Anadolu reports. Saudi Arabia said Israel’s step entrenches “unilateral, separatist measures” and contradicts international law. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry underscored the kingdom’s “full support” for the sovereignty of Somalia and the unity and integrity of its territory. Riyadh also rejected “attempts to impose parallel entities” that undermine Somalia’s stability and said it backs the country’s legitimate state institutions. Palestine also rejected Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, describing it as a threat to Arab and regional security. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said it fully supports Somalia’s unity, sovereignty and political independence in line with international law, Arab and international consensus, and decisions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The ministry warned that recognizing Somaliland or taking steps that legitimize secession undermines Somalia’s stability and sovereignty and said the move fits “Israel’s broader efforts to destabilize regional and international peace.” It also said Israel has previously floated Somaliland as a destination for relocating Palestinians, particularly from Gaza. Egypt said it coordinated with regional partners to oppose the move. In a statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held phone calls with his counterparts from Somalia, Türkiye and Djibouti to discuss the “dangerous developments” in the Horn of Africa linked to Israel’s recognition of Somaliland. Az-Zallaqa Media, Jamat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (#JNIM), released an 8:58 minute video in Mooré and Fulfulde, in which two spokesmen claim that the organisation is composed of representatives from all ethnic groups in the Sahel and does not discriminate against anyone. In the video, the speakers state that their main current objective is to overthrow the President of Burkina Faso, Traoré, who, according to JNIM, is causing suffering in the country. In most of the video, JNIM also shows a training camp for recruits in #BurkinaFaso.

According to the press release, the acquisition will help SpearUAV accelerate the implementation of its concept of integrated “battalion-level air power,” aimed at providing enhanced operational capabilities at the lowest tactical level. The merger further consolidates the rapidly growing loitering-munitions market, which has expanded significantly in recent years. As early as October 2021, UVision began strengthening its presence in Europe through a strategic partnership with Rheinmetall in the field of loitering munitions.
